I'm gonna assume there isn't any objection to a PvE part of this thread? There's a lot of chardevs in the initial post, but a large number are basically pvp variations/herald of the titans lists.

I'm gonna be messing with chardev this afternoon on BiS lists for myself + a friend, I could post them if anybody wants? Might be nice to see lists for PvE, despite it being complete overkill.

Sounds nice..
I guess i could make a PVE 1... And maybe transfer all the Herald of the Titans over to a whole other thread, to keep it split, so people dont get confused..
I'll look into that, and i would first do it next week as i have alot of papers i need to return this weekend.. but if i decide to make 1, i could use your 2 chardevs :)

This guide includes Gearing / Spec / Glyph / Gemming /enchanting / Reforging.

BiS for Disc PvP
With the guides already made. You wont get Spell penetration cap and the Hit Rating cap which you pretty much need since a Dpriest have to support DPS'ing and CC'ing during All arena fights.

chardev 9
A personal spec-change could be the 2 points in Reflective shield moved to Borrowed Time.

- Feel free to question the guide.

The issue with spell pen and hitcap as easily in this bracket because you'll find players level 84, who have a large amount more resistance, and require 4% extra hit. It's also rather hard to get the gems if you're using all cataclysm gear :p

Reflective Shield is a must for Disc PvP imo, if they try to swap to you they'll nearly die in the process therefore it really limits their ability to choose who to go on.

The level 80 Hit cap is a must. You can never have a BiS without capping the level hit rating. You rarely face people with higher than level 80, and missing with a Psychic scream might make you die. You rarely meet level 84, and when you does, you don't have the big chance of missing or resisting a spell. Without any hit or SPP you will pretty much miss every 4 spell.
- About the spell penetration, the spell penetration is just to make you ignore the resistance from Druid buff. As Disc you're not in need of the high lvl cap (130) as DPS needs.
About the gear, this was a BiS guide, not a guide to the once spamming Cata gear.

Conclusion: The chance of missing or resisting a spell even it's defensive or offensive will make a big deal in this bracket. As twink you dont need to build up a kill like in level 85, here you can just burst down an enemy during 1 CC.

Hate to say it, but 4% chance to miss isn't a big deal. Sure it can be gamebreaking when you miss, but you certainly don't miss every 4th spell, not even close to it. And you do need to avoid the 130 cap, because of other priests. Makes no difference compared to druid buff or not, especially if you're probably going to remove them anyway.

Yes, the hit rating is a very big deal!
- Yes, you should have Sp penetration to 75 as minimum.
Everything is pretty much gamebreaking in this bracket since anyone can burst like shit.

Why 75? Did you get that number from some random place? Because it's either 65 (kings), 80 (racial), or 130 (aura/buffs). not even sure where 75 comes from. Perhaps the old (non-existant now) improved mark of the wild talent?

Hit rating is only good because it's fairly cheap as a stat. 96% chance to land a spell, you're rarely going to notice the difference.

65 i ment, missclicked number. But (Druid/Pally) buff is 65 Resistance.
It's not about noticing the difference. Every spell is important during to every arena match because the dmg/heal scale is so big in this bracket.

I've been making some BiS profiles for each of the old tiers (as I plan to collect them for nostalgia). Not sure if they're any use to anyone else, but here they are anyway:
- Pre-raiding DK Tank (obtainable without stepping foot in a raid): chardev 9
- Naxx DK Tank: chardev 9
- Ulduar DK Tank: chardev 9
- ToC DK Tank: chardev 9
- ICC DK Tank: chardev 9 (without 4set: chardev 9)

A lot of the socketting isn't perfect (taking some bonuses that aren't worth it) and there are some debatable items (mainly trinkets, set bonuses and bonus armor).

Why can't you just put them in one thread? having them split over three threads is going to be harder for people to find, and it will take up more room on the forums when there wasn't a problem with how it was set out before

If all 3 are stickies they won't be hard to find at all. Nor will they be confusing if they're titled "herald bis, pve bis, pvp bis" . IMO it will actually make things cleaner
