I think one of the first things we need to figure out for certain is dungeon quest rewards. They seem to be a separate "group" of loot than open world quests and also separate from dungeon drops.

Can dungeon quest rewards proc epic?

Yes chops, Haezelnutty had an epic proc from a quest reward in RFC on stream.

Not unless they are dropped by a rare, or is a quest reward which it isnt.

To what extent does it work? If a quest gives a white item (starter zone quests) could it proc epic? Would be weird to see a level one rocking epics

So some anecdotal back of the envelope math here but

Im getting one upgrade every 8 or so quest rewards and about a third of those are epic. So, what... 18% chance to upgrade, 6% chance for green to go epic? Give or take a few percentages.

A small glimmer of hope for those that have completed all the quests pre 8.1.5.
I noticed on my Warrior when travelling through an area I had already got the Achieve for doing all the quests, there was about 4 or 5 quests available. I’d already done them previously, but they were there again.
Not a lot of chance, but some small hope that our existing twinks may still yet hold a purple item.......
Also, will they fix holiday purples, or leave them at their current ilvl? Hope they match the purpled being found....

If I get the rest of Ashenvale and barrens done today I will be faction changing back to Alliance and I will let you know. Which quests specifically? I noticed that in deadmines and sfk you are able to do the quests again after faction change but not WC or RFC. I’m thinking you can do the deadmines and SFK quests every time you fact change but I’m probably just being optimistic. Did you have others in mind?

It appears to me that some quests have better chances for upgrades. Two toons I've been playing with since the change. I got epic Staffs of the Sun on both of them. Both got upgrades on Eldritch Gloves (Arathi Highlands) and Bling Canes (Barrens), either epic or rare. Can't prove it, but I'm thinking maybe certain notable quests have a better chance. Just an observation. Or it could be amazing coincidence.
