78 cata twink

So I recently decided to make my old 70 dknight twink into a 78 twink with cata gear. I farmed throne of the tides and got most of the gear I need and bought some greens. But holy shit it is op, I was 1 shotting most ppl in BGs and I still need 4-5 more blues from Blackrock Caverns. And I could kill 7-8 ppl at the same time in av spamming howling blast. Just wanted to share that with everyone.;)

i noticed one ring was i278, i thought reforging required 300+ items?



as a 78, you are able to do cata content?
 
also appears blizz changed their mind on reforging?



i thought they said that a reforge would be 50% of original stat? a change like 44 crit would become 22 hit, or whatever stat?

i was asking about mastery other day in trade chat, responses where along the lines you have to be a 80+. i looked up a item you are wearing and it shows a mastery of 142 (3.58 @ 78).



are you getting mastery benefits at 78?
 
You can't train mastery until 80, therefore anything that has mastery is just wasted.



But you can reforge mastery into another stats so its just a free bee to reforge.

forging requires ilvl 200+ which is why people can reforge gnomish skill generators.

it was originally going to be only for crafters (lw could reforge leather, tailors cloth, jc rings/necks), and it was supposed to be 30% of a stat iirc. then they made it so everyone could reforge, but only on beta so it could be tested. final implementation was ilvl 200+, reforgeds 40% of one stat to another, 2ndary only

and yes, at 78 you can do cata content.





and yes mastery is worthless sub-80 b/c you havent trained the skill from your trainer and get no benefit.

You can get into the dungeons but only with people from your realm if im not mistaken.



The strange thing is one guy in general was asking me if he can go level at 78 to cata location sbecause it says he should be able to in the guide that comes with the expansion, well you can but the quests are obtainable only at 80, that is a bit odd when you can farm dungeons but you cant do the quests...



Ofc. 100 levels item difference will make you unstoppable in BGs agains leveling peeps but it wont last for long , a few wins and your aout of the bracket, and there is no XP locked opposite of it ... so doable but not very lastable ...
 
Yea about 4-5 min ques. But on the cata beta the 2 starting cata zones were supposed to be 78+ but blizz changed their minds and just made it to 80. But I had my friends summon me to the stone to run Throne of the Tides. It took about 6-7 runs to get everything from there. With this cata gear it's so easy getting hit capped/exp capped. I'm sitting at 33 expertise and almost 14% hit heh. And when I pop my trink and cds I reach up to 9800 ap. I'm thinking about making a vid then just lvlng him to 85.
 
Will do. :p Anyway I just finished an av with 83 KBS and 3.3 million dmg with 5 deaths(from running into a group of 30 allies).
 
Sorry for being a noob, but why 78 and not 79 where you get another talent point? Just explain to me, I just dont know. Is it because you get much more benefit from the Cata gear at 78 than 79 where you would drop a lot in crit/hit/mastery etc?



Anyway, I'm new here. Hit 79 two days ago but havent seen one single BG so far. Just doing archaeology and queuing for hours on end.
 
you dont benefit from mastery at 79, so i hope you havent been buying gear with it on purpose

you are doing XP on BGs, you are just twinked amongst levelers



XP off for 75-79 BGs shows "unavailable"

There's hardly any difference with 78 and 79, and I twinked at 78 so I can do more BGs before I eventually lvl to 80 from BG xp.
