Why does everybody say 72 paladins are way better than 70?

They get Avenging Wrath, which allows them to do 20% more damage+healing and throw Hammer of Wrath whenever they please. This results in easy 8k+ crits for rets. Combine that with a tazik and you've been globalled.

well yes but generaly they will get one hammer of wrath off before you can dispel wings, on a pve spriest, its enough to kill me

On the other hand, a 72 ret pally with wings on cd is, meh

prot = better against all classes except from frost mage and spriest...
