70 Tournament

Hey guys, I'm the tournament organizer, and I made an account here just to fill you guys in a couple things.

First of all, I apologize for EU players not being able to participate, but to be honest I wasn't expecting the tournament to get as big as it has when I first decided to create it and I am very happy that it is getting blown up this big, to the point where we have had multiple sponsorship opportunities. Second, I appreciate you guys showing such interest here as well. I was told that this website wasn't used very much by US players, so just decided to stick to posting on the WoW forums, so my apologies for that as well.

Anyway, for this tournament we will not be accepting EU players, mainly due to the fact that it is less than 24 hours away at this point. However, if this tournament goes well for us (which I have confidence it will; the 85 NAO staff has very high projections for us), there is a possibility of EU players being able to participate in the next one. That being said, you will need to find access to your own US accounts to play on, because I will not go around asking players to let random people from EU to use their accounts for the tournament. Anyway, we'll see what happens.

If / when the next tournament comes up (if I am still part of the staff, there have been a few people questioning why I am the lead organizer and also participating as a player) I will post here to let you guys know well in advance.

I hope you guys tune in tomorrow and Sunday, it should be a very entertaining tournament!

Hello, Iam one of the higher rated 70 players on EU at this moment playing legit in arena, seems like a great tournament coming up overall with good rules about engineering and these stuffs . I do have some questions tho, if Eu players can get access to accounts to play on why wouldnt they be able to participate to the tournament this time. Even tho Eu players are better overall I do not Think it's ok to freeze them out, it's afterall just a tournament where people compete and it'd be bigger and more fun to Watch if you'd let any high "rated" player join it regardless where they come from for more exciting games, Sincerly Cyberskurk

Because like I said in my original post, I was not expecting the tournament to get so big, I was expecting just a small community thing. I have absolutely no problem with letting you guys play in the future if you get access to US accounts and can prove skill, I'm not just going to take arena ratings from you guys because I know for a fact that win-trading is a pretty big issue for EU 70s. You proved it by saying "one of the higher rated 70 players on EU at this moment playing legit in arena".

Besides, for this tournament, the teams have been chosen for almost a month, and I'm definitely not about to kick some of them and let you play after you sit here bragging about EU players being "better overall", because that's a bad attitude. The tournament is mainly to showcase our community, it's not intended to turn out to be some big elitist tournament. I will fully admit that some teams who deserved spots did not get them due to 1. Not having a good attitude about it at all, or being known trolls or 2. running a FOTM comp. And therefore, we have a few teams who are not very strong participating because of their comp, or one of the classes in it.

We want people to become interested in the tournament and in turn, potentially bring strong players to the bracket. That has been my goal since day one.

So once again, sorry that you aren't able to participate but like I said, you may be able to in the future if you can get access to a US account and prove skill.

Yeah, wintrading is a big problem in EU, you'll see scrubnubs running around with 2400 RBG rating, but meh.

will try to watch as much as possible, pretty sure classes that play on live with stacked resilience like warlocks will do good.

Also think it will mostly come down to mana games, therefore Druids/Shaman is my bet for healers.

Shadowplay would probably be a good comp choice.

Might be mistaken tho, will see how it goes, best luck to players and good luck with organization anatomyx

I'll be watching with yow, we were hoping that a heroic rls team would be playing but it seems the priest in that team dropped out for a blood dk :(
Must say it looks really well thought out and structured, only criticism i would have is that you haven't banned out tanking specs, which imo should have no place in arena. Other than that, hope everything runs smoothly and it's a great tournament :)

I wouldn't be so sure.. if these players are as good as i think they are, i hope we'll be seeing a lot of cc combos happening for a kill :) it'll be really interesting to watch.

Dont take Everything I said to serius, I'll be enjoying it nontheless. What time does it start in europé btw?

Yeah but now RBG isnt the case, I had 42-0 in rbg last season with sitting endlessly in queue, therefor when I Heard the title would be unobtainable I took the chance, You dont know how hard we tried to go 2,4k legit but people just kept queue dodging all the time, I hope you would see it from my perspective, besides it's just a title?
