70 - is it worth it?

Hi all

So as in the title: is it worth it to get back to p2p WoW to play some 70s

little background:

I played a classic WoW and most of the TBC with a peak of my activity in season1... now ftp got me back a bit but it has flaws, namely a) 24s often ruining wsg games (even if they play at your side, it's not fun to just win)
<
basicaly 2 classes viable c) usually noone to chat with

and I wonder if 70 would be any better...I don't have any problem with paying for the game, just been wondering if its gona be an improvement vs FTP

a) am I going to get queues? (for instance rolling on frostwhisper EU) Now I got 10-15 mins on alliance Mon-Fri 10-17 CET (thats when I usually play, I dont play evenings nor weekends usually, please notice that, as I've read that many brackets play only evenings!)

<
well is it really mage/rogue? Back in a day I loved to play war, but it sucks at 20 and from what I've read its no different at 70, how about meele pala or ench shammy?

well, and in generall is it worth the effort or maybe it's better to wait for MoP and see what brackets will be active by then?

Thx and hope to get some feedback, would rly suck to make a toon only to discover that it was pointless

Hello there, ill try to answer a few of your questions.

Is it worth it ?

Yes, i think that it is, the bracket is very unbalanced, but if you play the toon you love, it makes no difference, you can still have fun.

Yes, you are going to get queues, as horde it's usually a round 4 minutes.

There are no doubt a ton of mages and rogues, and yes sadly warriors are really underpowered and it's barely worth it playing them in Battlegrounds.

Sadly, retribution paladins at lvl 70 are not that far from warriors, they have a lot of self and strong off heals, but little damage without wings ( talent lvl 72 ).

Enha shamans are, sort off around the same level.

If you want a melee class i would roll a feral druid or a rogue, wile if you dont care about the frustration given by being :

Everyone > me.

Than roll whatever you like.

Well, in fact i doubt Mists of Pandaria will bring that much of a change if not in fact of talents, so yes, it is in my oppinion worth the effort right now.

Hope it helps !

Yes, this bracket is definitely worth it. 70s are one of the only (active) brackets that are largely unaffected by gear from the following expansions. It's also one of the only brackets where the disparity between level 70-74 is pretty non existent. 60-64 is rampant with rogues and BC geared scrubs, being level 64 is undoubtedly better than being level 60. 80-84 is just as imbalanced. People will tell you that any class is viable, but what they are really saying is that everyone can 2 shot each other.

70s remain the bracket where the endgame BC gear is still best in slot and every class has a pretty equal shot at being viable (without 2 shotting players). There are a lot of people playing the bracket which means you will see a lot of class diversity. Healers are very difficult to deal with, but not impossible, and the burst potential is largely dependent on many factors.

oks many thanks for comprehensive and polite anwers

moving back to classes - how about a prot pally? heard they'r doing well, altho Ive never played a pala

Prot paladins are sort of viable at the moment, personally i find the class too much relying on RNG, but defo a possible choise.

Medium - strong off heals, medium damage, high survability.

I'm playing prot paladin atm and i find it okay. The heals are strong. Damage is good, burst is very good and also very reliable due to high crit chance on shield of the righeous. Survivability is ok.

hmm kk, i might try it then - tauren or human?
<

Well, it really depends on what faction you like the most, i was Alliance, went Horde, and cant see my self going back.

Altough, personal oppinion, female Blood Elf > Tauren, mostly because Blizzard has not fixed the doors yet, which means that as a Tauren you have to dismount to be able to enter few places, instead of auto dismount working wile just entering.

70 is worth it, its fun.

ret pallls isnt that bad, sure it isnt no frost mage or rogue, but it does okay with cooldowns and rng and i enjoy my ret pally, and id say female belf, looks the best out of the paladins imo
