Hear me out:

- Level 59 is the last level which you can turn off your xp, so its the twink bracket with the least amount of scaling but the most amount of talent points and skills available. Therefor, it becomes more about skill and less about nutty scaling stats.
- You have access to more content than any other xp-off bracket, i.e. Dungeons, Raids, etc.
- You can fly at the highest speeds available in non-DF-zones.

Anyway, I am enjoying playing a level 59 Guardiuan Druid at present and if anyone wants to join me and run some content together, my BTag is Quirk#2968

Out of curiosity, do people play this? If so is there any pvp happening at this lvl?
Ive had my raidgeared 50 from pre DF and been wondering if its worth bumping her up to 59

I can’t see xp disabled pvp happening at this level range in retail

If it is good for you but this is probably a pve focused endeavor

There's only a handful, mostly levelers and 70 party syncers in the bgs. You would have to re-gear if it was from before DF since they changed all the ilvls and didn't upgrade existing raid items. Bis gearing is the same as lower levels - mostly warforged and epics from classic dungeons.

IMO, the main reason to make a 59 would be for pvp, the pve scaling is terrible, you will get outdamaged in dungeons by lvl 20s in heirloom gear. Part of this is because the secondary scaling is so bad at 59, blizz made the secondary scaling a curve instead of a big change when you hit 60 and the gear goes up by 100 ilvl. So you end up only getting about half the secondary value from the same piece of gear as a lvl 20 would. I think the secondary scaling starts dropping off around 50 and gets really terrible at 59.

I have also used mine to farm some rares in war mode chromie time, it's pretty empty and you would be the max level that's normally allowed in there, although that's gonna change soon.

The main benefit is in epic bgs, the bracket is 20-59 and lowel levels get scaled up poorly. Pops seem rarer these days tho, and you might only get them evenings and weekends. But you can do stuff like this:

I concur. Level 59s being able to run Classic thru Legion Dungeons and Raids while in Chromie Time is a waisted opportunity to run most of the older content at one level. Plus, with the scaling, the gear is relevant and you dont have to grind to get gear to run it. Of course, RNG is still an issue regardless, but you have more Dungeons and Raids available to keep your options open. I have a 59 DH set just for Timewalking, and I am chomping at the bit to find a small group to get together to run the old Raids.
