5 Reasons you should stack dodge (as a rogue)

Tacticus

While browsing through forums i saw lots of comments on how people dont seem to value dodge. A dodge set can be used as an incredibly tactical offensive and defensive weapon. The following are some reasons of why you should gear your rogue as such;
1) EVASION is one of the rogue's greatest defensive abilities. This will increase your dodge from whatever it is,lets say 30%, up to 80% for 15 seconds. Its cooldown is 3min, making it a very useful pvp tool for getting out of those sticky situations

2)Agility increases Dodge, most rouges want to stack agility anyway, making a dodge set a few items away from a top damage set. (You may have to switch around items to provide the greatest dodge without sacrificing too much attack power)

3)Its like a bubble you can attack with; popping EVASION will not decrease your damage output in anyway, just remember to always face your target (you cant dodge attacks from behind)

4)These are easier to get! When you go to open the Arena Treasure Chest, the most annoying thing is getting interrupted within the last second. No longer. With evasion popped, you have a significant chance in dodging lvl20 f2p attacks. When you dodge the attacks, your opening of the chest is not interrupted.

5) Hunters will be Nerf'd in Mop, with the change of ranged attack properties, (projectiles may now be dodged as regular melee attacks) rogues may now be able to close the distance b/w themselves and the Huntard without dying in the process...

My current 'dodge set' on Tacticus sits around 40-42% unbuffed and rockets to 90-92% with EVASION up (that's 15 seconds of not getting slaughtered by warriors)

Does dodge not suffer from DR??
if so, high amounts will only let one dodge a few attacks, as compared to 80% of all with evas

Even with diminishing returns you should still see around 30% and up unbuffed and up to mid/upper 50%s with evasion (according toDodge calculator) while these numbers are significantly lower, they still prove to be a reasonable amount of dodge( these numbers may be fairly inaccurate due to the lack of agility->dodge data for lvl 20s)
On my rogue i have experienced what seems to be around a 75% dodge rate for most melee attacks (undocumented/tested)

There's leather gear that literally gives dodge rating

True, but at level 20, the amount of dodge from agility may outweigh lower dodge ratings (notably +1, +2 dodge rating on items in exchange for items with >3or so agility), which is why you may need to tweak your dodge sets in order for maximum dodge output...

Looking at your armory, the only thing that I see you doing differently from most rogues is the 2 dodge to bracers. Why are you giving us reasons to stack dodge when all you do is gear normally?

He is talking about a Dodge "set" he probably doesnt have it geared at the moment of armory.

Stacking dodge is just bad.

First of all, if you knew how to play you would autowin against every warrior.

Every bit more dodge you are going to add loses relevance anyways and it does virtually nothing against hunters and mages.

Playing against a Warrior as Rogue certainly isn't an autowin. One of the best Rogues of the bracket, Nvdiss, rarely wins from my Warrior.

do you even know that you can dodge while opening the STV chest? Or do you assume it?
Im pretty sure its just as if you'r casting something: Can not dodge or parry.

A balanced set wil help against all opponents

oh shi*

its on.Id actually like to see this..
then again the rouge has agm and the warrior doesnt so im placing my bets on the rouge

and the ''best rouge in this bracket'' you went against has a 1107 kills to 625 death ratio...making it an average of 1.7 k/d ratio

k/d ratio is like WHO CARES? xD Anyways Nvdiss isn't the best rogue in the bracket if he doesn't know how to beat a warrior in a 1v1. Makes me sad.

I wont use evasion or AGM. I just have AGM equiped for 12 stam in duels.

Guys...... im the best rogue here so.... yeh :)
COME AT ME *karate provoking stance*
nah jks, and as for inoobupro, you seem like you roll alot of toons man please put all your armourys in your sig, I wont judge you lol Im just curious is all.
And as far as versing warriors goes, When im trying I dont lose EVER to a f2p warrior 1 on 1. If I lost to a f2p warrior in a 1 on 1 id be like.... wow..... wtf just happened.
Not because warriors are shit but I just havnt lost to one, UNLESS someone comes all "to the rescuse" on their ass then im screwed.
