5.4 Enchants - updated for level 1s

it's literally the first line in this post and the reason for its creation :)

So, I found 2 GF'ed items on my Shamans bank: Raging Berserker BOA with Arcanum of Ferocity (gives 26 AP and 12 HIT on lvl 1) and Herod's with the ZG +30 AP enchant.

Decided to roll a hunter then for fun... Which enchant setup would be the best overall?
For now, going with:
Head: 26 AP and 12 Hit
Shoulders: 30 AP (I believe the Aldor inscription is better now, though)
Cloak: 8 Agi and dodge
Chest: 4 stats
Bracer: 8 expertise
Gloves: 15 agi
Legs: 41 AP 17 Crit
Boots: Not sure...

Ranged: Won't have Flintlocke for some time, running with the 33 ranged haste one.

So, thoughts?

I'd say 14 stam to chest, cause the 4+ stats only scales to 3, and 11 stam over the rest is pretty huge.
And for boots either Boar's Speed (9stam and minor speed) or Cat's Swiftness (5 agi and minor speed)

edit: and correct me if im wrong but isnt haste like THE stat for 1's? If so grab 10 haste to gloves and either 9 to cloak or 12 PvP power to cloak.

Haste is indeed pretty awesome, but I'm not totally sure how much over Agi, for example.

Hey, lucky you! Having the head enchant eh.
So you have 12 hit on head and probably 1-2 more hit from boa items, that won't be enough.
For more elaborate calculations about hit and expertise refer to: http://www.twinkinfo.com/forums/f32/%C7ips-5-4-test-results-52728/

And yes aldor shoulder enchants will be better, but you can keep yours just for pimpin'

Also change your cloak to 9 haste
Your chest to 14 stamina(heavy borean armor kit)
gloves to 10 haste

As for boots, you should have at least two pairs:
One with 5 agi+ speed - You'll use this against melee classes who you'll have to kite.
One with 8 hit+8crit(surefooted) - Use this against casters [With this boots on, you'll be hit capped along with your head enchant, lucky bastard]

Haste is a useful stat but not until you are hit and expertise capped(I am not talking about a definite cap here, refer to Çip's test for more info), and pvp power has no effect on level 1s whatsoever.

Thanks!
Well, considering that the miss formula for a hunter is 2% + (mob level - my lvl) * 2%, my hit (45.5%) should take care of things up to level 20 ish, no?

Follmann - you are correct, the hit cap for a level 20 is 40%

in fact:

lvl 10 = 20%
lvl 20 = 40%
lvl 30 = 60%
lvl 40 = 80%
lvl 50 = 100%
lvl 60 = 120%
lvl 90 = 180%

Meaning, and I think Hunters and Rogues are the only classes that can do this, I can hit cap on a level 90 ... the only problem, is I can't expertise cap so my hits dont' always land.

EDIT: It may be possible for casters to cap as well since expertise gives hit rating to them...however I have to log into the game to get the exp equivalency percentage on casters

Follmann and Chubtohd you calculated single-wielding hit rating. Which is right for hunters. But I wanted to calculate some for dual-wielders.

Quoting from WoWPedia:

If the difference between the mob's level and your level is greater than 2, then the formula for calculating your base miss rate against that mob is:
  • with single-wielding: 2% + (Mob Level - Your Level) * 2%
  • with dual-wielding: 21% + (Mob Level - Your Level) * 2%

We should look at dual wielding equation for rogues obviously, so if we are facing a level 20 mob then;
%21 + (20-1)*%2 --------> %59 hit is required

Level 10 ------------> %39

Level 15 ------------> %49

Level 20 ------------> %59

Level 25 ------------> %69

Level 30 ------------> %79

Level 90 ------------> %199
