Keeping on the subject of how will 40 armor effect Painaid, I took the liberty of doing some calculations. According to Painaids stats sheet he has 6,453,732 damage recieved and 4,217,215 healing recieved leaving 2,236,517 damage recieved without healing. 2,236,517 divided by deaths should give his average HP per death of 2650 (this number seems high and may reflect occasional world buffs, friendly buffs or even exploits from previous patches depending on when blizzard started keeping track of these stats). I had to make an assumption that 2/3 of the 2,236,517 damage was physical damage and 1/3 was magic damage (unmitigated by armor). If 24 armo

r gives an additional 0.05% physical damage reduction (just a guess but seems conservative). 0.05*1,491,012 = 74550.6 / average hp of 2650 = 28.1.

So in summary if painaid had been using the 40 armor kit from day one he would have died 28.1 less times over the course of his twinking career. Insignificant?.....maybe

Your assumptions:

  • Painaid has never taken PvE damage.

  • Painaid has never received end-of-BG/arena healing.
  • Painaid has never dueled.
  • 24 armor is 0.05%. (the correct formula is: Percentage of DR = Armor / (Armor + 400 + 85 * Opponent's Level) which in this case means 1596 / (1596 + 400 + 85 * 19) - 1572 / (1572 + 400 + 85 * 19) = 0.004%, more than a factor 10 from your assumption.
  • You assume that 66,6% of the damage taken is physical. That's a pretty big guess out of nowhere. Please Recount and send me the results.
  • Painaid has never been out of combat unless fully healed. THAT's hardcore.

Not saying you shouldn't do calculations, but get real numbers and real formulas. If you need help with it tell me. These kinds of things are very hard to calculate though. Too many unknown variables, most based on Painaid's personal game-style, experience and effort. Simple example - with hits coming in faster, the healers will be more alert and they will heal him more. In some cases he might've even died less because of this. The only real assumption we can make is that every bit generally helps. Every point of armor is theoretically better than nothing. That's common sense though, you don't need calculations to say that. So - common sense first, then some insight, then lots of numbers. =]

Good luck mate. Great to see someone else who loves numbers as much as I do. (sorry for being such a geek saying that XD)

They don't work because the enchant itself actually soulbinds and when you go to drop it over and click accept trade it will say soulbound items cannot be traded.

Confirmed.

I have been having +40 armor since I started getting serious with my twink. I don't know why so many people don't have it though. Now I know. It still works 100 percent. This is the best leg enchant you can get. The reason because any amor kit above rugged armor kit has a stam buff on it. Blizzard is really serious about having the any stats enchant on pants that if you attempt it, you will always get disconnected.

I tried Vindicator's Armor Kit, 8 defense rating. Didn't work.

8 def is consider stat. Which won't work.

Edit:

I think whoever was calculating painaid's status was just joking around. Blizzard can't calculate that, Elitist Jerks can't calculate that. Jesus ca...n't calculate that. Just kidding, what wouldn't he do. But ya the chance of the armor saving his life is so low unless he somehow often get away with x (amount of health he saved with his extra armor while fighting a physical dps class, maybe 1 physical dps, and 1 caster dps. This could include so many combo of physical dps and caster dps hitting him). Which means x is impossible to calculate but it is a very low amount and can go down to 1. When x is 1 it means he's getting away with 1 hp after fighting someone or some people but one of them has to be a physical dps and he survived with that 1 hp because the armor saved him when he was being hit by y amount of health by a physical dps. All that I stated above would just be a fraction of factors that change his survivability. You feel me dawgz?

So basically what I said - every bit helps, but some bits can't be calculated, and some individually make barely any difference.

Btw I did an inspection on all enchants today and I tried the only enchanting item that could possibly work. The Khorium scope. It is the only scope/echant that doesn't soulbound the item (beside the +1 and +2 dmg one) so I thought I would try it out because I have never seen anything about anyone testing it. Since it is itemized (if you look at all the different enchants you will see how blizzard put different restriction on them) exactly like rugged armor kit I thought it would work on venomstrike. So I was all hype up, bought the mats for the khorium scope for like twice of what it usually would have cost me. I was excited that this could be a big change for hunters (even though they don't deserve it!) so I got the scope and went to wc. 7 runs and it finally drop. My balls sweat up a little bit while I am screaming inside thinking "this is it." So I applied the scope the same way I use to apply the rugged armor kit. Unlike knothide armor kit and others better one which says it doens't meet the level requirement, The enchanting bar was going all the way through and I was just about to jump then it dced me. I cried for a good 2 hours before I went on and post this. Anyway I guess there's no other enchants out there that is better than what we can get now. I still don't understand why Rugged Armor kit and thick armor kit works though yet knothide armor kit doesn't work and this scope doesn't work even though they are all itemized the same way with the same type of restriction! For the TLDNR people here's a quick summary:

-I got curious if any other enchants that could work.

-Found the only one with potential of working: Khorium scope

-Tried it on, doesn't work

-All I got from this was 2 pair of sweaty testicles while I was on a 3 hours journey trying to make it work.

However I can conclude that as of right now there's no better enchants that we can get than what we already have. Tata!

I'll admit I was high and on adderall when I typed that but yes I do have 4 testicles. Well just on tuesday and thursday after 10. It varies during the week. Don't tell me you don't have 4...
