Facts first:
I have a BC account (might upgrade to WotLK, more info below).
I like caster classes/specs.
I have mage but it's too squishy once targeted.
I would like more armor, and self heal is just friggen awesome.
Before the patch I wanted to roll a moonkin, get it geared, and start having fun in the the 70-79 bracket. Then 4.0 hit....
On to the questions...
First a general question:
Will a WotLK/Cata account, with XP turned off at 79, be in the same battleground as my BC capped 70? If this is the case, I'll be upgrading to WotLK and turning off XP at 79.
Now the hard question:
Should I roll a moonkin, or elemental shaman? I am mainly interested in the BG aspect of the game, so I don't much care about not being able to do arena at 79.
With the latest patch changes, boomkins have been stomping my sad little mage with only 4 pieces of valuable gear with huge burst. But I notice they after they blow all their CD's to mow me down, then have to run away and heal up and get mana back. An elemental shaman seems to have an unending supply of mana, and will hit me for 70% of my 12K+hp with a lava burst. However they seem slightly easier to interrupt if they don't get the jump on me, since it seems most of their big damage is in casts. Another thing I like about shamans is not having to waste mana shape shifting to heal, but moonkins get HoTs. Pop some heading into a fight and you have a huge advantage to start with.
I'm really torn between these two.
Then one last question I have is regarding upgrading my account:
I saw tons of whining about level 10's and how their resiliance scale is making them so OP. Would I then be better off at 70 with resil in my favor? or at 79 with much better gear?
Help would be so greatly appreciated!
Ron.
