All Quest rewards from Classic through the Warlords of Draenor expansion now have a chance to upgrade up to Epic quality.

Item-levels of Rare and Epic quest rewards in Classic through Warlords of Draenor have been increased slightly in some cases.
Unique items that drop from rare enemies in Classic through Mists of Pandaria content now also have a chance to upgrade in quality.

Decided to test this on my 39 warrior as I hate questing and never turn anything in. Turning in the quest 'Challenge Overlord Mok'Morokk' which rewards me a Duskwallow Impaler gave me the following results; out of eleven turn ins I only achieved one upgrade from blue to epic. Please see spoiler for comparisons. Upgraded epics from blue will scale from ilvl 45 to 51 and Green to Epic upgrades are confirmed as well, i.e Cudgel.

So you can still only do quests once tho, or? not sure how this applies really... not sure what you mean you turned it in 11 times.

Not if you reroll a new rogue until you get it, and then go from there.

edit- honestly... with an allied race starting at 20, that's 19 levels. It's nothing.

But, if you have to do that for multiple quests and hope you get it each time that puts you at 1 in a billion chance to have an actual full twink? seems legit. Unless I'm not understanding you, those are worse odds than playing progressive slots at an Indian casino.

Welcome to the era of everybody having a 90% twink i guess?

There are plenty of BiS items that come from quests at the 39s.

Yeah, that's probably it. Any purple BoE items are now "easier," because you only have to get them once. "Normal" BiS will be whatever you can repeat (dungeon loot) to epic. No one will have the RNG BiS if they need several quest drops to upgrade to epic.

The game will be cancelled (or the gear changed) before you finish that set.

Most twinks weigh weapons above all else. For that mindset, you can easily - over time - just keep re-making toons until you get that one item you want, and then begin the rest of It from there. The very unique https://www.wowhead.com/item=156999/mokmorokks-headcracker would be such an item, because of its weapon speed not available anywhere except https://www.wowhead.com/item=156998/cudgel-of-naralex … I think.

The horde-only version has always been "better" due to it being rare over green. Now both CAN be epic.

I had to look both those up via google misspells to link them. It's just a point. And it favors ally in this case.

I agree, but you are in the millions of chances to get both BiS on one toon... that is a lot of rerolls... PLUS apprently they can have RNG stats on the secondaries as well at any grade epic/rare... so you are actually in the billions of chances.

It is actually not going to happen.

And in all actuality some of the Bis Helms and gloves are giving stats that are insane.

No, for rogues you only need MH to be slow... apparently. So you have 2 tries (1 on ally) to get an epic one, or reroll.

It's not awful. I'm not very interested... but for those that want a new rogue anyway, it's not all that bad.

edit- it's probably like 5-10% chance for upgrade, from what everyone's been showing so far.

And that's what you focus then. The one item you value and take your chances with the rest.

The whole comment was that with allied races starting at 20, its just 19 more levels... 9 for 29. Almost nothing.

Say once a night for a week. Take a break. Try again the week after. Im talking myself into it now... LOL :confused:
 
No worries everyone! Queues appear to be re-separated XP-on and XP-off! You don't have to grind anything.

Do feel free to cancel your subscriptions and tell them why, though.

Hoping this is an accident.
 
Interesting thread, have had 2 epic upgrades on live so far, both haven't seen much of an upgrade of stats. Keshan's bow's stats @ ilvl45 are already underbudget (12 Agil, 17 stam, 12 crit vs ilvl 43 boa bow which is 12/17/15) but epic has the SAME stats just higher weapon dps.

Have submitted a ticket to ask about it as it should've added + 2 stats across the board, see what response i get.
