39s First Game in MoP Pre-Release Patch

From what I understand, Horde has 3 active Flag Carriers(me, sock, and neco). Alliance doesn't have any BiS geared FCs. They have a few decent geared FCs that will occasionally come online for games, but I would probably say alliances could really use a skilled, geared, and active FC.

Well my Alliance FC isn't quite a geared as my Horde. Plus, I don't have a prot-dps spec if there is more than one FC in the game (not sure if prot-dps still works with all the new changes.

Let me know what I need on em.

there you are you bastard..... i've been wondering wth you were up to, so i came here just checking on some stuff and made a account just to talk to you!! <3 yes you need to reactivate to farm up some gear, right now you can upgrade your neck, cloak, and pants, stacking stam is good, but honestly i run with about 5800 hp and have 10% more damage reduction than the stam stackers due to the amount of armor i have.

dps prot is good actually, but with dual talents going arms isn't bad either.

also right now i'd say neco has the best pally prot set so here is his armory http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/aerie-peak/Necoangelus/simple

Also, what's up with this "requires level 39" plate gear. Can warriors and paladins equip this or is it like the shadow wrath shield, worthless?

So you recommend picking up these "plate" peices and hoping blizzard just made a "typo"?

EDIT; Hey Account, I have a quick question for ya. Can your 39 ride your Zulu tiger or does it require level 40 to ride 100% ground mounts?

I'd say hold onto them if they drop. Just to be safe. It's what I've done so far.

Yeah, you can ride the Swift Zulian Tiger so long as you have mount training in general. I've riden around on it with level 20s as soon as I learned the training. Same applies to all ground mounts from my experience. The only issue is with mounts that have the races on them. Like the chopper saying "human, gnome, etc" won't be usable on horde toons, and vice versa. I had three hogs horde side, but can't ride a single one on Account. I have no clue if there are plans to change that or not.

Edit: My personal take on the Scholo pieces is this. I think not enough low levels ran it in the beta/ptr, and since they changed it to a heroic they didn't think to tune the regular pieces back down to being level appropriate. The SM pieces were the same as well when I checked previously. I haven't looked in a while though. So, I don't know if they ever changed them. I could be completely wrong though.

I'm not entirely sure how, or when, it was changed, but at some point I read that it could be done. So, I tried it and it worked. I have a pair of Scarlet Boots in my alt gbank with 10 hit/crit on them as well. Ignore the actionbar in this ss. I never play this toon outside of using it for bank space/auctions.

I want to roll a Warrior but Helm of Exile is pretty heavily grandfathered, not much that can compete with an item like that :/

nah, skill > gear. right now i dont have BiS FC gear, of course b/c there are some grandfathered pieces, and the last nite we que'd up the opposing team's FC had 1k hp more than myself. due to playing smartly i barely dropped the flag at all. its not always about the stats, but definatly is always about the smarts in this bracket.

I think playstyle will be far more important than gear now that people actually can take some damage and healers arent useless.

Helm of Exile isn't that big of a deal. I somehow missed getting it on my warr during wrath, and rocked the BoA helm for a while. Even though it has lower stam, it was still pretty good all around. If you don't mind screwing with RNG, and dropping some gold, start trying to craft a Green Lens of the Bear, or of Stamina. I lucked out and got an "of the Bear' one for my warr, and have one unbound on my horde server.

Of course skill > gear, but when an item exists that has double to triple the stats of the next best item, hitcaps you by itself, and gives you a ton of stam, you're left feeling more than a little gimped without it.

hitcaps you by itself

That's the only part of your post that is really accurate. The next BiS, non Green Lens, has about 1/3rd less stam. 19 instead of 27. str instead of agi (not really a big deal), and 10 less hit (if you choose the dps one). Yeah, it's better period, but the hit rating is a non-issue so it doesn't even really matter. The only actual trade-off is you're losing 8 stam, which sucks, but it's manageable and you won't get shit on over it. Helm of Exile is a beast piece, no doubt, but you're placing way too much stock in it.

Now, if you don't have access to BoA helms, then yeah, completely ignore me because you're pretty much right on that. Anyways, with Green Lenses old stats being craftable again it's not really a big deal, at all.

Edit: Not trying to sound like a dick, btw, but probably came off that way.

I have access to head BoAs. I just realized that Helm of Exile has Agi which is worthless for warriors after the patch (50 agi on my level 50 warrior gives me less than 1% crit.).

With that in mind, what are the new stats on Green Lenses? I noticed they got buffed across the board, I believe single stat ones are now +28.

EDIT: Took a look around. Looks like I'm rolling a 39 Warrior - Horde, probably Tauren or Blood Elf, possibly Panda but probably not. Any other GFed gear I need to know about?

Yeah, single stats are 28 + the passive 10 stam. Bear, Eagle, etc are 18/18 + the passive stam.

Not really much you have to worry about GF wise. I know Blood-Tinged armor is GF'd and was one of Hordes best chests (17 str, 18 stam). If you can find a reasonably priced Scarlet Chestpiece it'll work in place. Both can have the +150 hp on them. All depends on if it's an FC build, or DPS build. If DPS, there are other alternatives. Mallet of ZF is GF'd, and I think last I saw BoA sword replaced it (might be mistaken). Everything I read in the past showed Deadman's Hand as BiS for FC, but not as DPS. Other than that, I don't really think there's anything major.

I've possibly missed something, but that should be just about it. Nothing gamebreaking.
