39 Premades Discussion

Might I make a suggestion?

I've been through a number of these 39s revivals, even since the initial fade out. Been here for every. single. one. And here's what happens:

1) Revival announced! Hype! Day Selected! People show!
2) Games happen! MOAR HYPE! second day immediately selected!
3) Noone shows for second day and/or vast imbalance shows up
4) Disheartened, everyone assumes no one will show up for original day. Prophesy fulfills itself.
5) Revival dies in 3 weeks, after only a handful of hours of decent gameplay.

Can we maybe stick with say, saturday nights at 6pm for a month? Several months? Until games are starting early and runing well into sunday morning?

When we plan competitive play to up the ante a bit, can we start with 3v3 arena instead of trying to jump into full on, guild v guild premades right off the bat?

I want, more than anything, for 39s to succeed. Badly. Really badly. It would break my heart to see it start up again only to fade out in less than a month because we got greedy.

I agree with this. Stick it to 1 night a week for awhile. So true about no one quing the 2nd night. Please do 1 night a week, then arenas on offdays if the btag allows it. I don't mind 10v10s and think that they are a great idea, but try to make them actually happen. Record and premade gameplay, as it will greatly enhance the bracket's hipe :D

In my experience, going from one night a week to two nights is an easy move. People want to play twice a week. It's the move the three nights that can kill a bracket if the schedule expansion happens too soon.

Two nights a week means that if you miss a night, you have to wait a few days. Most players aren't willing to do that. Three nights a week means if you miss a night, you only have to wait a couple of days, and that's an acceptable loss for most players.

I'm seeing a ton of excitement for 39s, so I think plunging into a two-night schedule is pretty reasonable if the launch day is successful. Just beware the three night bogeyman. And of course, nothing stops people from going bonkers with arenas in the meantime.

Hello, I'd like to have a discussion to gauge interest on 10v10 premades for the 39 bracket.

For people who do not know me, I have been a twink player since BC and I've played at 19, 29, 39, 49, 70, 85 and 99 throughout my years of playing. I'm probably most known for "competitive" twinking, as I lead the most dominant 70 rbg/arena guild <xxmd nation> throughout the end of Cata up until 70s died out from MoP, and I am one of the leaders of the guild <jesus christ marie> who recently played in the 19 twink cup.

Myself and members of my guild(s) who are migrating to 39 (several of whom are well known 39 players) for the revival attempt are very interested in the potential competitive aspect that 39 can provide. I have also spoken to some friends of mine in <Waka Flocka Seagulls>, who are a guild from 19 planning to play 39s, and they have expressed interest in playing games against my team when we are both prepared for 10v10s.

That being said, I'd like to see what other members of the community think of this idea behind premade organization and a competitive scene in 39s. I'm an extremely strong believer in the idea that competitive play is what causes a twink bracket to truly flourish, so I'd like to do whatever I can to help bring it here. I feel that by bringing a premade scene to 39s it will help gather even more interest in the bracket, especially from players who were maybe on the fence about joining or who have not been that interested due to the limited play times that typically happen here.

Anyway, if you have an opinion on the subject, good or bad, please leave a post. I hope other members of the 39 community will consider the idea so we can have a higher chance of making the revival of the bracket succeed. Thanks.

I think premading at 39 would be great and could happen early on in the development but probably thru plebmades balanced around making good games/balanced comps. I think it is great that you are moving as an entire guild to 39 but at this point there are no real super established guilds like we have at 19s so I think if u come in as a nice guild queuing for pugs/plebmades and just being a part of the community im sure there will be guilds at some point that would want to premade you specificly as a guild.

Just avoid making it a US vs them thing and I think it will go great, it is obviously something you thought about while making this thread so I don't think this will be an issue.

I also think a lot of people that make 39s now from other brackets are making class and spec choices on what they could not play in their homebracket, my point is that they might be focused on playing that specific character and not really thinking about premades and potential compositions.

But lets say you guys and waka flocka are set up to do premades tomorow as an example, that Is great and awesome and you should go right ahead and battle it out. Just remember that a lot of good players are probably still out there, just not ready or even thinking about guild vs guild premades for a bunch of different reasons; might be first time at 39s, some might come from other brackets alone or with few friends, some guys from twinkcup teams burned out for now on superorganized 10v10s with guildrep on the line or they see the bracket surviving mostly by being able to field healthy pugs on queue days.

My own thoughts right now regarding 39s is just to see how the gameplay actually is, will pugs be a meeleslugfest with 0 heals , if community plebmades will happen early on and if I can begin my journey of playing my class really well.
This is what im thinking of and most people know me as a really competitive player who has been involved in premades/wargames/guildvsguilds for years and years.

If this start goes well I have no doubt that you can get 10 players to face you, probably just more likely that they will be "Insertname and his real id friends on most likely suboptimal lineups" Those games can still be great because there are a lot of good players moving to 39s but won't be a full on guild vs guild war with established lineups and current patch experience until that can happen naturally in the bracket or another big guild from some other bracket comes in determined to play you.

If the bracket really becomes a hit im sure good players will gravitate towards eachother either as potential teammates or potential teams to battle.

Looking forward to play with or against you and getting to know some of you guys better.
