39 Paladin Changes (PTR Tested)

Well, I'm mixed in my feelings about the changes made.



First off, ret pallies are now mana batteries, and some holy paladins may want to consider going 11 points into ret. Here's why:

Glyph of Seal of Command restores 8% of base mana.

For a 48 mana judgment we gain 240 mana back (every 8 seconds)



-Seal of Command and Judgment of Command damage is considerably reduced but it is 100% chance

~135 seal/judgement hit

~300 seal/judgement crit (yes seal can crit)

-Judgement 100% of the time procs SoC

-Vindication reduces AP by 214... that's a lot x.x

-Hand of Reckoning is not usable on players, unsure about pets. If usable on pets it damages nearly 400 and can crit 700.

-Exorcism is now a 1.5 second cast that can be interrupted. Damage remains the same and was able to crit for 950 self buffed with crusader. Cooldown remains 15 seconds.

-Judgement of Light restores 2% of max life. Before patch it was based on AP and SP, at 2.2k life it's about the same at 45 health, with more HP it's a buff.



I'll let you know if I find out any more. Can't decide if I like this or not yet.

This will be a definate buff for my Pally, he is a sort of Ret/Holy hybrid. Not finished him, but so far I'v stacked SP and crit. I didnt go oom to much on him but occasionally I did, this will definately prevent this from happening.

Shit, that's a lot indeed. Almost half my rogue's AP unbuffed, might as well use my fishing rod then.

i know this is a 39 thread, and i have a ret-29.



i always like vindication since it affected all classes equal. it is one or was one of the best passive damaging spell/ability if pointed. to get a back to back proc on this against any class is devastating.



vindication after 3.2 will only work against AP/melee type classes. to top that the AP reduction seems over the top. if it goes thru to live, it will take blizz 2 months to correct it.



mages, priests, warlocks, bal/res druids, ele/res shammies get a free exemption from vindication on 3.2 . to top that these are some of the classes that give a palidan to most problems as it is now.



i don't believe the 2 points will be worth it for PVP, probably for PVE more

I tested out my 39 ret twink in PTR with nightblade, LoA w/ savagery, and pacifier w/ sader, and I'm thinking nightblade might actually become useful. soc procs EVERY time now, which is about 110 for me, even on judgements, which are about the same. rets aren't as bursty, but we have exorcism now which is ok. I really don't know what to think, but i do know that I'm gonna put savagery on nightblade before considering respeccing. we'll just have to see I guess.

if you are a ret pally with any viable weapon, you just can not have any problem killing a resto druid/have huge problems killing a balance druid. just time your stun right.



this may change a lil post patch, but not significantly.



@weapons:

i don't have a pally myself, but im pretty sure that high dps weapons will be more viable than just slow ones. pretty nice buff for all the BoA users. nightblade will just be more viable, but still not the best option.

definately the gap between LOA and BAR will increase...+chest +shoulders...i already hate BoAs, they should atleast be available to everyone. like BG rewards.
