39 hunter bow or gun?

with the changes they are making to ammo does the bow now beat the gun for the best ranged weapon for a hunter?



shadowforge bushmaster vs bow of searing arrows



same top end dmg,



bow is faster



the proc vs 7 agi



i trying to figure out whether i should sell the gun or use it for my upcoming 39 hunter

From what i have read in research, is that Bow of Searing Arrows and SFBM have almost the same dps (like .0001 dps off),



But i would basically go for which one you like better as for looks and sound

(from what i have read is that SFBM makes a whistling noise that is annoying when you shoot)



For my twink i went with the bow because i can farm the arrows with my main until the new changes come out, and i think it just looks right

Above poster is incorrect. SFBM by far outweighs the BoSA;however, had they actually implemented the no ammo thing i believe BoSA would have trumped.

2.9 x 12.5 = 36.25

109 + 36.25 = 145.25

2.7 x 11.5 = 31.05

109 + 31.05 = 140.05



Without proc or agility, nor the normalized 2.8 speed AP contribution to Normalized ranged attacks Multi-Shot and Aimed Shot, the SFBM Stands ahead. If you are good about bursting Multishot-Aimed Shot between two auto-shots, it's a huge advantage for the SFBM since Autoshots are not normalized.



However, the proc keeps BoSA very competitive.

white shots aren't normalised. that means they calculate the damage they do based off the speed of your weapon. and a slower weapon means they do more damage (this is why a warrior with a pod will do bigger white hits).



so here's the basic low down. every single white shot which is calculated by weapon speed will do significantly more damage.

note this is all without any ammo equipped (just to be safe considering blizz might of been potentially removing current ammo from the game so SFBM will be pulling ahead even more with ammo equipped.)

So basically, for the purposes of Bursting down a target, SFBM is by and large the superior.
