30-39 Druid

I use to have a 20-29 Flag Carrier Druid way back before x-realm BG's existed. I had a LOT of fun running flags and doing that sort of thing.

Is this viable for 30-39? Or would I get spanked? if not is there any other 30-39 Druid Spec that is decent? videos?

Thanks!

I would not say that Drood is no-go for FC, but I would neither say that Drood is best.

Your 30% (or 40% if Travelform, or did I miss anything?) Speed buff is worthless as soon as a Pally comes round and hits you with his JoJ.

So you will be in Bear then, for more Armor and HP, and then its a comparision of survival + CC handling.

As a Drood you usually have 800 Armor, with Bearform that makes 2240, which is inferior to Pally (3,6k with right gear + Aura) or Sham (at least 2,5k), additionally, these classes can block (and parry).

CC handling:

-Pally: Hand of Freedom, dispels slow/snares, and stuns, if talented

-Sham: Ghost wolf: cannot be slowed below 100%

-Drood: Shifting out of slows/snares

imO Pally is most versatile FC in 39ers, as HoF provides the best CC handling (although only temporarily), but if you do it right, you can outrun ppl while freedom is active by using a Swiftness Potion. Also, Pallies can have highest possible amount of armor of the three viable FCs (yeah, you can FC with every other class, but imO the others are stricty inferior, as all lack of survival, exept Warr, but Warr is terrible at handling CC), and the lack of MS (MoveSpeed) increase can be countered with a Swiftness Potion.

Sham and Drood are a bit of inferior to Pallies, imO, but may be stronger in some situations (drood can shift out of slows/snares, and Sham cannot be slowed below 100%, but shams can be snared, though.), as Pallies have only temporary CC handling.

Oh, and as for build: Go for feral and hard Stam stacking.

Yeah back in the day it was a lot of shift in, shift out, cast hots, shift back, etc.

People loved me though, I had buttloads of health. Any links to any armories of people who have ideal fc gear?

The thing is, that you cannot shift out of JoJ, thus making your speed useless (if the opponent team happens to have a Pally who isnt a douchebag).

As a pally, you might catch the pally who JoJs you, and instant stun him, then insignia out, drink Swiftness Pot, and freedom yourself, if needed. The other pally shouldnt catch you up then.

As a Drood, however, you have no stun/whatsoever, and your forms only award 30/40% speed, and, on top of it, you have no slow/snare immunity, you can only dispell the by shifting, thus making the trick much more difficult, at least imO. (You can always drink a Swiftness Pot, however.)

But, still, Drood is one of the three classes that CAN FC, so it will work. ImO Pally is superior in some points, but then again, inferior in other ones.

I can provide you a chardev profile, if you wish.

€: Forgot about HoTs though. This will make Drood FC even more viable (mb even better than Pally), but imO Pally has a better *burst CC handling* (for the 6s of freedom), and with a Swiftness Pot you can outrun your enemies, making further CC handling (€^2: and keeping yourself alive with HoTs) not needed, as your enemies cant catch you up.

€^3: http://chardev.org/?profile=449805 There you go.

Ghost Wolf and HoF are both subject to dispels though (priest-shaman-felhunter). Stuns/fear/scatter can also render your HoF rather useless.

If you are looking for a good FC armory, I suggest you take a look at Chubs on EU. He uses a full feral build in combination with caster gear. He is a very good FCer in the 39 non-xp BG's (or so I heard).

Come cataclysm, (which isn't more then 3 months away), druids may be the best option for flag carrying. Paladins lose out on hand of freedom, which cripples their movement almost entirely. Warriors lose recklessness and shield wall, along with intercept. Mages lose mana shield, and as far as I know they are pretty good FC's at the moment. Shamans can always pick up and run with it, but they aren't the best after you get it home.

Personally I would play a druid FC over all the rest, They can shift out of all snares, and have the highest movement advantage, allowing them to motor across the field before people can catch up. Rolling Hots is always nice as well. Kitty sprint is kinda nice for a quick burst as well. With bear stun form to help a little as well.

The only thing i'm not sure of is which spec to play as they each have advantages.

Resto can heal better, and gain Natures swiftness to instant heal if necessary

Feral can do the most damage, but its heals aren't as good.

Balance might be the best as it can help defend itself at range, and use boomkin form to be more resilient to damage. Typhoon will be fun for throwing anyone who gets up to you on the base back down again. Roots to snare people and a ranged silence if needed. They also gain a lot from having max mana and spell power so their heals are much more effective.

I could be wrong, but im betting Balance druids will be top FC'ers. maybe not for premades, but for sure, for PUG's.
