3 irl friends starting in the 40's bracket

This bracket is pretty fun overall, if only because you'll have to collect the set from Scholomance.

Currently got a druid there still grinding Cadaverous and Necropile set. Got Headmaster's Charge in the meanwhile though, so I'm glad about that.

No battleground though, but meh, PvE twinks ftw.

EDIT: I'm referring to 40-44. My warrior is heading to 50 for Honor's Call so he'll skip 49 I think.

another huge problem with 49ers are their attitudes. there are way too many fagtotting losers in this bracket for it to be fun. a large deal think that 1v1ing a warrior makes the warrior's player an inferior person in real life and WILL ACT ON IT! i was flamed hard enough by people in this bracket to quit wow. beware, these people are not people friendly. (minus falkor, he rules.)

(ps) Falkor, i want babies with your eyes.

i am not fond of balroy and co. but they were right when they said that you and falkor are both incompetent.

and apparently "Like Attracts Like" "Birds of a Feather Flock Together" etc.

if you are a warrior or a warlock, i would not recomend this bracket. maybe it was the games i played, but every game i felt like i was getting instakilled by everything. i ended up fear spamming+dotting+pet attacking the very very very few kills i "earned"(god knows each kill was a lot of work) with my warlock, and with my warrior i couldnt kill anything without a healer unless i was against a magic damager and used antispelldamage pots, and when i did that it felt like i was playing dragon age and not warcraft.

I don't know from where this experience comes, but it doesn't line up at all with my experience of 49s. Warriors and warlocks do well enough when they get the support they need, which isn't much different than most classes at 49. The burst is too high to have any expectation of being able to "go it alone".

As for attitudes, 49s do have a couple of people who like to be asses. Part of that is their impatience with the rate of growth of skill in the bracket, and part of that is simply, as you said, their attitudes. But that's only a couple of people, which makes for a far better ass vs. friendly ratio than any other live XP-off bracket. 49s as a whole are some of the friendliest XP-off players I've ever met.

While I don't know the cause for you being the target of such ire, I can recommend that you don't 1v1 in a 49 battleground. This bracket lives and dies by focus fire, and you going off on your own to hunt down a player, win or lose, hurts your team.

Players are more tolerant of mistakes in this bracket, because they understand the stakes are higher. But conversely, they're less tolerant of bad strategies or repeated mistakes, because one person can bring down a whole team.

I think this statement right here is pretty much full of ignorance. You completely generalized the bracket's attitude as a whole when in reality, it is just a couple players who grief / rage and are completely full of themselves. Most of the other players realized this right away and pretty much ignored those few individuals.

So, not to sound like the bad guy here, but if a couple of individuals made you quit the bracket, then I do not think that twinking in general is a fit for your play style. I have played and continue to play several brackets, and there are ALWAYS those types of players who are egocentric and continue to put down players on their team. I will admit at times, even I get frustrated. Especially when because of those certain individuals, your team ends up losing by a landslide game after game due to poor attitudes.

Honestly, it's how much value you put into your character and how much you enjoy the bracket that really matters for your experience. I guess just somewhere, along the way, people just don't enjoy it anymore, but generalizing the whole bracket over a couple individuals is definitely the wrong way to go about you not being able hang with the fast paced play.

the only people i had to play with on my warrior were the same asshats that made the game not fun. i cared a lot about my twinks... 2 years ago. now i play this game alone with a handful of random friends i made online. none are twinks. /wrists im emo, but the lack of support from so called "friendliest XP-off players" and constantly being under attack instead killed the game quick for me.

in retrospect, i could have xfered to a server where there were friendly 49s, but i didnt really think of things like that. the only people i really wanted to play with all seem to play horde only and i dont like to play horde. its a cop-out, i know, and now i wouldnt mind playing horde(or at least i dont think i would... but who knows) i gave up because the only other 49s i came into contact with seemed to be total douchestix and to me that was it for all of alliance+49s in general. i just didnt meet friendlies ingame, it was always hostile people.

I dont think i will be coming back to wow anytime soon, mechwarrior 4:mercenaries and i got back together after i broke up with wow. things are going great and the customization of the game is incredible now that its free to dl. a few of the clans in it created maps that are like g-modder worlds and storyline campaigns from the battletech book series. im having much more fun, and i seriously suggest the twinks from sexy time all the time come play a couple games with me on it and then call me a fail gamer =D

p.s.) @stat - eat lead and fire. and die.
