2x Darkwater Talwar

Zirano

Bitch stop crying
So I've been wondering if 2x Darkwater Talwar actually gives you more shadowbolt procs. People constantly ask me why I am not running 2x of them but when I ask them if they have any evidence that wielding 2 will give you more procs they're very unsure. Has any1 done some testing on this?

I dont see why they would share a proc ceiling...I imagine they would be independent. Im basing this on nothing and reallly shouldnt have made this post

Yeah I was thinking that too, but I was doing a mini test yesterday where me and my other 29 friend dueled eachother like a bunch of times only auto attacking eachother. he wore 2x darkwaters and I was only wielding 1 and there was legit no difference. Obviously this was a very small sample size which is why I decded to ask on here :p

youre better of hitting a dummy for 5-10 minutes with 1 then 2 to be able toclearly tell imo..

edit - or duel a healer

i know there is a toy that has a hittable dummy and i tihnk one somewhere in stv randomly...but perhaps all these changes wtih scaling and shit have made all dummies or at least some of the lower ones in cities actually functional for low levels? i know i dont miss dueling higher levels....i really dont know anything though

edit - i tested the level 60 dummy and my theory was completely incorrect

I havent actually tested dummies since mop, can we hit the level 60 ones now?
We still "miss, miss, miss..., miss" against level 60 dummies, though the Raider's Training Dummies are now usable to check dps on (we no longer miss when hitting those dummies).

A few weeks ago I checked on those dummies, checking the difference between 1x Darkwater Talwar and 2x Darkwater Talwar.

My observations (from multiple 5 min parses) were:
1x's proc rate yielded a proc rate of around 2 to 3 procs per minute.
2x averaged around 4 (or 5) to 6 procs per minute, or about double the proc rate of 1x.

Alright, thanks for both the information about dummies and the proc rate of Darkwater Talwar. Even tho I do trust you i'll do some small sample tests for myself as well! :)

Weapon procs suck, it does not seem any weapon escapes that. I loled to see every EU rogue with these crap weapons. Nice to get another confirmation.

it doesn't share proc rate. having x2 of those gives you roughly x2 the amount of procs.
had 2 shadow bolts back to back within same autoattack swing window.

inb4 salt for not having i25 version ofc.

Whats the proc actually hit for? A proc for 300 damage every 25s or so is decent for bursting people down. A proc for 70 is probably not worth losing stats or weapon damage.

Side note, http://www.wowhead.com/spell=258954/darkwater-talwar is showing me that the proc hits for 20048589 at level 1300 - thanks wowhead!

So on my 29 rogue testing on the raiding dummy it hits 121, so should crit for about 180 dmg in bg's then.

do you have evidence that they dont give more procs

thats almost a whole elemental force on its own

and if you have two talwars with double elemental force that can be fucking lethal

I just tested this out, its 6-8 procs per minute using x2 darkwater talwar. Use what you feel better knowing this.

The opportunity cost is weapon damage and agi/secondaries for the proc. Ele force is good not only in terms of damage, but because it procs so much. Talwar has a much lower proc rate. You'd really want to do some tests to see how much more damage you get with other weapons in a somewhat representative scenario (say, cheapshot into dealing damage for 5 seconds or something). Check every combo of best weapon damage (BG crate), best stats (I believe this may still be shadowfang? dunno other options in 20-29), and talwars.
