2v2 Tournament 3rd of December

Hosting an open 2v2 tournament for both horde and alliance twinks. The tournament starts at 20:00 EU realm time (CET). Instead of restricting gear we will be trying to balance with comp restrictions. We are still going to use the gear templates for 3v3 tournaments and possibly future 2v2 tournaments, so make sure you have a brutal set ready for your twinks.

First place prize is once again an [Eye of the Legion]. (value)
There are currently no prizes for anyone besides 1st place, so feel free to donate anything you like to the prize pool.

Rules:

• Each team must consist of 2 players
• Each player may bring any number of classes/specs
• Teams may freely swap comps after every game, as long as they stay within the comp limitations
• Random maps
• The format will be bo3 single elimination brackets if we get 4 or more teams. Otherwise it will be bo3 round robin.
• Finals will be bo7

Forgot to add balance druids to the list. They are in group B. Also double healer comps are not allowed for the sake of our sanity.

At 8 PM? Idk man, there's always gonna be people who can't join. In the weekends people want to go out and stuff, which has been the primary problem for our events so far: people signing up and then having to go to a party or family meeting etc.

I'll join if someone else sets it up. I can also throw a tcg pet into the prizepool if people actually sign up.

May I suggest a 2s tournament though? It's easier to get more teams for 2s, and 3s are horrible without template gear, and template gear seems to discourage people from signing up.

Too unbalanced? There will always be fotm comps, sure, but 70 2s has never been more balanced in the history of the bracket than they are now.
The biggest reason I even play this bracket is because 2s are actually fun unlike maxlevel where you have to play double dps to prevent games from going 50%+ dampening every game. And I happen to like the mechanics of healer/dps v healer/dps in 2s.
3s are just a complete shitshow at 70 - often resorting to mindless damage races with nothing but one or two instant ccs on a healer needed to land a kill - unless you severely limit gear which, as I said in my last post, seems to discourage people from signing up.

I think our biggest issue right now is to get people to sign up and actually show up to tournaments. Once we fix that you can start worrying about putting gear and/or comp restrictions on people.
