mid control and mid farming are two different things. mid control means you actually have more than one person crossing mid trying to run a flag. mid farm means sit in front of tunnel between the two huts and kill anything that comes by and not even make an effort to play the game. i may be the most vocal and the one you see on real id but i promise you in that horde vent channel i wasn't the only person who didn't like the bad form displayed. turtling with 15 minutes to go up 1-1 on last cap is also very funny.

also sorry for being upset at games becoming unfun with all the hunters and midfarming going on. i was under the impression this was supposed to be fun. my last game was a satisfying win though. it was a decent game once you guys stopped mid farming.

and not even make an effort to play the game.

do you actually think alliance organize on vent so they dont have to make an effort to play the game. every game i play in is in effort to WIN, even if it means I need to CONTROL mid with my team for 20 minutes until we find a valid way to hold mid and get an FC across the field. I have never, ever been in a 29 game where the general consensus was to farm mid with no goal in mind

what i saw in one game was 3 hunters, some other classes, some healers all sitting in mid while a lone human warrior whose name i cannot remember (sorry!) grabbed solo and ran solo all the way to the big stump on the left side of the map. horde was wiped and fcftw was downed and you still sat there. it was just unfun. i hope you can understand that from my perspective. 3 hunters and just never leaving the area between the rejuv and zerker huts on the alliance side.

then on the next cap we finally got it across mid and alliance had a shitty hunter in mid, maybe 2 or 3 at most going on O, and the rest hugging the flag carrier. once that turtle was broken at 6 or 7 stacks, the game seemed to open up. the game before that i'm hearing was a 3 hunters on the roof ramp turtle. it makes things unfun to do that. i queue first and foremost to have fun. even losing can be fun if games are close and competitive among friends. i've been kinda a dick but emoting me and yell macroing while killing me and accusing me of using a spit macro doesn't help. this whole thing on my part has gotten way out of hand from my original real id teasing of someone about hunters and MB.

i'm even on DH on my little level 1 trying to work up the courage to be a man and apologize too. i don't want game nights to be full of tension and animosity because i love playing and i love more competition. i just don't want games to end up unfun all the time.

Definitely agree that a 3 hunter defense turtle is rather cheesy. This would and does upset me. I'm sure Doomhammere was attempting to persuade some of the other hunters on defense to move to the offensive team in tonight's games... or at least I hope so. I recently created a level 1 on Doomhammer to discuss hunters with them and their guild's plans in the bracket. They said they've got about 11-12 people making 29s and have assured me that Rubikz is their only guild hunter. They seemed somewhat amiable I suppose.

Anyway, with respect to midfarming and your above example from tonight's game, I don't really have a problem with that. As long as someone is attempting to run the flag, be it the unnamed human warrior or anyone else, controlling midfield is actually a smart and effective tactic. In fact, even when your FC has crossed midfield to go cap the flag, its still smart to maintain midcontrol. Why give it up if you have it. Better to keep mid control, finish the game fast, and move on to the next game where hopefully the class comps and player skill will be more even.

That being said, farming for 25 minutes with no intention of grabbing the flag is pretty dispicable. I think most twinks will agree with that.

Mid control is a legit strat no doubt. Its just horde all rerolled off our hunters because we didn't want to make games unfun for clothies, etc. When you (alliance as a whole) are rocking 2-4 hunters and using the legit strat of mid control, its ****ing difficult to counter, if not impossible.

Maybe the answer is for everyone to get back on hunters to try to balance games, but that seems to be quite the opposite of the direction we were at one recent point trying to take the bracket. I mean its getting to the point where we are about to hit either everyone protest sitting out of games, or just not queueing, or hunter nuclear war where both sides take it upon themselves to swap toons and "balance" games.

I'd be lying if i said I wasn't seriously considering adding a 29 horde hunter to my toons, even if it goes against everything I've been saying.

it's frustrating on a team full of healers and melee to be sniped down by 3 hunters. you can be awful on a hunter and still control mid. when alliance has 3 of them it's really annoying. hearing people say they might stop queueing or would love to roll a hunter to counterbalance it will eventually lead to a decreased quality of games.

that said there were a plethora of shitty alliance hunters coming out of the woodwork tonight so it's not one person or guild's fault.

Quite exactly my sentiments.

ARG!! It will take me about a day to finish my :Horde: Hunter...

If the problem persists over the next few weeks, we need to come with some idea for countering the Alliance Hunters:

1. I say we get three legit :Horde: Hunters and ONLY use them when they are rolling this strategy (Maintaining Mid w/ 3 Hunters). I am thinking about bringing mine onto the battlefield and only shooting other hunters, if it is possible...

2. Some more pleading w/ DH, trying to control Hunter population.

3. Learn how to deal w/ hunters on the toons we possess , w/ use of vent and strat.

4. Quit

so.... are we playing tomorrow? >.>

i have dentist, facial appointment, and cafe w friends tomorrow....

but if we are playing our regular 9pm eastern~ i can que up :D

We have a grand total of 1 hunter in our guild - this is just silly.

But why even bother supporting the class by queueing with one? Surely you don't need the one when Horde have none and Alliance already have several.
