29 twinks - 2 vs 2 tournament *updated*

HELLO EVERYONE!!!

With great pleasure l would like to announce that there is going to be a 29 2 VS 2 tournament held which will include PRIZES! Some of the prizes up for grabs will include a free REALM/FACTION/RACE change and on top that a free Tabard of the Void to the winning team!!! [2nd place gets a prize aswell]

When: 01/12/2012 - 9:00PM EST [Please try be online 1 hour before the tournament starts]
[Saturday night for American players - Sunday morning for Oceanic players]

There is a sister thread for this forum, please post your team match up along with you battle tag there accordingly...

We will also be doing recordings of the games and throwing up a montage video once the tournament has concluded!

Get ready for what I’m sure will be a great competitive turn out! There is still plenty of time to get ready for this tournament so if you want to get in on the action it would be best to start getting prepared now!!!

Someone should slap some sense into Baeloro.

He just went from proclaiming "You don't need BIS gear to be competitive" straight over to "Tapout only wants to do this because he has BiS and isn't planning on losing oh man way to crutch on that GF gear!"

Talk about contradiction, and additionally, THE WHOLE POINT is to play again, it's a fucking 2s tourney, you don't have to buy in, who cares if they win and someone doesn't get a xfer?
 
how does team 1 on x server queue arena against team 2 on z server? esp if they are seperate servers and factions
 
just que for 3s have two ppl on same server then have them leave before its starts really isnt that hard

Team 1 - Server X

Team 2 - Server Z

Player Y1 from Server Y joins group 1 to facilitate queues

Player Y2 from Server Y joins group 2 to facilitate queues

Players Y1 and Y2 meet and queue, then leave before the arena match starts.

Even if Livingforce and l do win, the team that comes 2nd place will still win the free realm/faction/race change. We will just hold the Tabard of Void for the 3 VS 3 tournament that will be held in the not so distant future =)

1. You DON"T need GF gear to be competitive in a BG with 19 other people, some of which also do not have GF gear or may only have one or two random GF things.

2. This is a 2v2 environment, where every little advantage carries with it a much greater degree of weight, and we are talking about a guy who bought someone's fully GFed rogue for $1400. A rogue which has every single GFed item and rocks double mongoose.

3. You don't need to host a tournament with prizes to play your character. We've been doing wargames fairly frequently since the bracket died, and most of the time we are able to get at LEAST a 2v2 going. We don't include Tapout because frankly, no one likes him.

I'm thinking you should always q 3s with the same people in facilitating the qs streaming. Also commentary please. Id be happy to blog about this
 
Rules need to be set in place for showing up on time. DQ after a certain period of time. If you dont the games will take forever. Very important to keep this flowing.Same thing with DCs. Otherwise people will be losing and intentionally DC. So maybe 1 DC and then after that DQ. Are you doing single elimination or double elimination with winners and losers brackets? All things that need to be addressed. If we want exposure to the community I believe its important to be 100% organized first in order to shed a good light on this bracket. Once you are 100% organized I would make a new thread on Blizzard forums without all the garbage.

Skank's got this right. If the bracket was blooming and we had regular Warsongs or even the numbers to support a single Warsong, throwing together a tournament and just letting it flow wouldn't do all that much harm as there would be players to support more competition in the future.

This however is not the case with 29s, and if this tournament is to flop or have negative connotations attached to it as a result of poor planning/communication it could hinder future projects.

An extensive list of rules should be set up just to make sure everyone is on the same page regarding ingame limitations and tournament regulations.

@Willy - I am aware of your distaste for Tapout and although I don't fully understand it's entirety I would ask that you keep your personal vendettas out of these threads. Sure you have a right to your opinion and also too express your opinions, but at the end of the day you're hurting more then just Tapout and overall have a negative effect on the players of 29s at large.

Please try to limit your vocal despise in respect to the rest of the players.

The lack of any rules or clear organization is a strong sign that this 'tournament' is just for the lulz... it's not serious or there might be some semblance of organization.

Yet you responded on the Blizzard forums. Your negativity in that thread sheds just as much bad light on the community as a disorganized tournament would. I would ask that you refrain from the BS on Blizzard forums
