29 rogue discussion and duels

What’s up, I’m approaching 29 on my daggers rogue, rn my spec is 5/5 crit from assassin, 5/5 backstab damage from subtlety and improve gouge. Looking to discuss how to beat my frost mage friend in duels who’s around my level (tips on how to handle the mage slows and cds would be nice). I’m aware swords rogue is better but I like running backstab. Also any talent advice is welcomed, hope you understand thanks. I’m not staying 29
forever on this toon just progressively
leveling in near bis gear that’s I can scope out from dungeons and world pvp until I have a main at 60 first.

undead btw on smolderweb horde us.
My engineer is at 150 rn bout to max it out further if there are any benefits to engineer in the 20-29 bracket, also I’m 225 first aid already too.

If he is any good you will never win. The only shot is gnome with rocket helm/EA.

To give you the best shot you need imp sprint and either gouge or grenade his blink if you open CS. This is hard cuse you dont have dirty deeds at 29.

He will blink then start his poly cast. you need to vanish and grenade immediately (unless you timed the grenade after CS open). Then you have until his next blink CD to kill him. save imp sprint for nova and pray for RNG.

Escape artists, gnome racial. As dagger rogue who's not gnome your gonna have a lot of trouble. Just gotta hope ambush/backstab crits. Ambush, backstab, vanish, ambush, backstab haha.

Ok since you're an UD backstab rogue you have a real uphill battle here. Iron grenades are going to be a must and Thistle Tea is probably your only chance. Should be obvious but you want to Iron Grenade as he blinks and use Thistle Tea after you've dumped all your energy on Ambush > Backstab for two more Backstabs. Just make sure you're not going to get Nova'd right as you use Thistle Tea.

says I need 235 eng for rocket helm :[
so goblin engineer > gnome?

so I tried getting gnomish engineer and quest says req 30? wasted time runnin all around

Yes, you won't be able to specialize in goblin/gnomish at 29.

You can however use the rocket helm if you buy one or have someone make it for you assuming you've a gnome and have the required 235 engineering.

is the improved hit chance talent useful for pvp? im usin kind of a unique build Idk if its shit. lvl 25 atm.

5/5Malice (5%crit)
3/3improve gouge 2/2improve eviscerate (bout to take hit chance or improve backstab not sure?
5/5 opportunity (improve backstab ambush garrote20%)

What even is this topic anymore? Do you want the best spec to beat a mage? Do you want the best dagger spec? Do you just need to learn basics about hit chance? What is your purpose now?
