24 Twink Rogue Help

Hello everyone,

So I am looking to make a 24 rogue twink and had several questions.

1) Which spec? I've seen about 50% of rogues go sub and 50% go assassination.

2) Best in Slot list? this is based upon either spec and also see some rogues with parachute cloak, some with a jungle cloak, and no definitive setup in terms of weapons.

3) Race? I will be playing alliance, just don't see a definitive race for rogues at 24 looking at armories and such.

I'll answer what I can but there will be others who can answer better.

1) Try both, depends on the player and play style.

2) Partially dependent on spec but also play style, look at a lot of armories. With the cloak the parachute cloak isn't really worth having (in my opinion) without 12 aging enchant (which is only if you enchanted it before 5.4).

3) Personally I would go Nelf for meld, But you may want human for trinkets (even though there is a lack of useful ones as a rogue compared to other classes). Also gnome is a viable option.

Why do you mention the parachute cloak enchanted with 12 agi pre 5.4? I did not do that, so what significance does pre 5.4 have? Also, from a best in slot standpoint. is there anyone that can pin point me specifically to some armories and say "they have BiS," because every single rogue seems to be running different daggers in assassination and different weapons with subtelty so much so that it is impossible to actually draw a concensus on what in the world is BiS, and what is "almost" BiS just easier to get so people skimp for it.

One of the main attractions of the parachute cloak was the fact you could have TBC enchants on it due to the ilvl, 5.4 made it so that enchants can be applied at any level but scaled down. Somehow the already enchanted cloaks kept 12 agi. Where as if you were to enchant it today with the same enchant you'd have 9 (I think) aging.

As for weapons in my personal opinion :
Assassination : Banga MH with Blackvenom OH
Sub : Loom JP agi sword MH with Blackvenom OH.

Curlex is hands down the best 24 rogue other then ko's whom has faded into black yet still remains? Only he can corfim nor deny it's existance BUT copy curleys gear. always. period.

unless ko's drops a link to his rogue curlex's is bis. even then "play style" will always be thrown around as a rebutle
 
I see people go for sword on main hand in sub sometimes. But doesn't ambush give you more damage with a dagger regardless of spec?
 
Isn't the reason behind using a sword, that the white hit following ambush is gonna make up for the dmg lost, compared to daggers, and then some?
Does evis do more dmg with daggers aswel?
Don't play rogue so I don't know for sure.
 
Did you test it? I did and the white dmg doesnt compensate the loss of yellow from using dagger.

if you could read, I stated I don't play rogue, how you want me to test it?

From what I can see he asked a question. which is kinda what this thread is about.
 
1) Any spec is fine, although I've recently enjoyed combat the most for the huge AP, huge eviscerates and big sinister + melee crits. Sub gets very high dodge and crit with pretty big ambush + evisc damage. Assassination hits a shitload with poisons and mutilate but eviscerate gets replaced with envenom (does maybe 50% of eviscerate damage), which ruins it for me.

2) Here's what I'd use on a 24, pretty much BiS agi stacked rogue:

3) Night elf imo, +12 stam/6haste (from extra trinket) as human isn't really that valuable as a rogue

Saw he is playing Ass, i'd go for Crit cloak and BoA ring tbh.

LE: And even Crit bracers.

PS: BiS agi rogues should go Sub using the quest belt( http://www.wowhead.com/item=61111 ) and Brawler Gloves.

Aye, it's a sub set. For assassination I've heard stacking a shitload of crit and going double elemental force is the way to go. For combat same as sub but remember to use a sword in mainhand :p

Like I said above, i'd gear somewhat different as sub. And yes, 2x Elemental Force is the way to go as Ass.

I gave my POW of Why some rogues uses swords, going with what info I had bout rogues, from 19s, if it don't pertain to 24s, cool, now I know.
No need to be anal bout it ms "I play fotm exclusivly" ;)
