24 Hunter - 51.17% Crit unbuffed

Hi guys, just looking for any thoughts/feedback on this setup I have been playing with.

Falconhoóf - Crit Stack Hunter

Gone for all out crit just to see how high I could get, currently at 51.17% unbuffed (56.17 if I run wolf). Not sure if there is anything I can do to get higher than this, without race-changing to Worgen for the 1% racial.

It's very glasscannon, end up running with around ~125 less AP than agility builds, but a good ~20% more crit, suppose it's swings and roundabouts in a bg if you have a healer with you.

We (Xykojen and I) definitely feel that all out crit is the way to go as a Hunter at this level and no other Hunter, as of yet, has come close to proving us wrong. If you'd like further insight into our logic behind this we'd be more than happy to share! Interested to get all of your thoughts on the matter, though.

My hunter (óo not oó) is running the exact same setup minus the BoA ring.

Both our mains are Aldor exalted which is a pain but nonetheless we are both over 50% unbuffed and are 55%+ in BG.

Scrap that, just did the maths again and you were right. Derp.

Xykojen and I are relatively new to the 24 stuff (and I am new to Horde) so there are a few more obscure items like that ring and the shoulder enchant we overlooked.
 
Heya, just to update as I editted the main post. I have replaced the shoulder enchant as kindly pointed out by Whatgoesup, this has brought me up to 51.17% unbuffed.

In terms of the Stillwater's Signet, yeah the 3crit would be better for Nev's hunter, but I'm running the BoA ring as my off which gives 6 crit.

Noticed any other bits that could be replaced/upgraded to give more?

is it really worth having the crit scope over the proc chance scope?
 
Do you guys have DPS stats and/or BG screens compared to non-crit builds? I've got a 24 hunter that I'd love to brush off for this build.
 
It depends Yndi, If scope procs you can always switch guns but i rather run with doom/woodchucker and have around 50% through gear alone which is the best mix, scope is just to much dmg increase to drop. Going higher with crit you just lose dmg so it is better to have agi on cloak and gloves and find your setup around 50% and not lose to much agi.

But yeah it will take you over that barrier of shooting 1 crit out of 2 and even often 3/3 expl shot crits. Very nice for sting to.

I still have more crit and damage in bg as a 20 hunter then you Falconhoof i reach almost 70%maxed out outside bg which is ~10/11% lower in bg (youve seen me in bg, well ive seen you *near gy cough*), but you surely chose the right way then going for silly agil which will just increase the dmg of a hunter slightly and just have around 30% crit. But you should also switch your shoulder enchant again, such a waste to use this one because you can reach 50% without.

But a shame you took this to the forum Falconhoof m8, now all these US people who told me their bis setup was bis gonna switch now and try it out like i said they shoud but instead got emod on and laughed at haha

I'd like to see a link to your armory please.

Outside of BG with all enchants it'd be quite easy to have more crit than our characters on a 20. However, inside a BG I find it extremely hard to believe you could top what Xykojen's Hunter and to a lesser extent my Hunter has.

Arv, are you saying you have a 20 hunter that has 60% unbuffed inside the bg? And could you link me the armory? Given gear scaling and gear I'm using that isn't available sub 24 I'm not sure how that's possible? I'm sure you do have higher top end damage given the stat sacrifice we take, but i'm curious about the crit.

As I say this is just trying to get as high crit as I can, running a second proc-scoped bow and switching between for max damage is smart, but let's not give away all the tricks ey? Once i'm happy that I couldn't get higher i'll play about and optimise again with a crit/agi build, this was just for fun.

As a side note, we've played a fair few bgs now and not once have either myself or Nevs hunter not been top on damage, and always comfortably. Sure it's against randoms but it shows the build works to some extent, would love to get in some group fights down the line.

About the glasscannon, 20 is just a better choice for that since you use mostly the same gear as at 20 and at 20 you get scaled up to 24 in bg.. (adds about 20 weapon dmg) we pretty much have the same toon but i get the benefit of level scaling but decreases my 2ndary stats a bit ^^ I am sitting on 61.65% without 2nd crit ring and the shoulder enchant as on falconhoof. With pet buff i go to 66.65% and inside bg to ~56%, i could go a little higher with the said 2 items which brings me very close to 70% outside but like i said it will decrease with like 10-11% inside bg while my dmg gets upped from level scaling :) Yes you would have a little more as 24 but my dmg and stamina will be higer. I guess its just what you prefer in the end. I just hope items get scaled back to pre 5.4 then i will have way more crit seeing as items in my bag scale as pre 5.4 and not in slots, i just hope its a bug haha :)

Is that Jaiz, druid from Nightfall 39? Idk, that name rings a bell.. Got a feeling I remember you from the old blizz forums.. Mifra, Nhap and co, was that you? Anyways, welcome back to twinking... Nice hunter :)
