It would be really cool to see Messi bring it home and cement his GOAT status, and Argentina look good enough, and the field is wide open enough that there's actually a chance it could happen. Of course I'll be rooting for the USMNT as is my duty, but as always I expect nothing from them and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they can't beat out Wales for 2nd in their group.

Apart from that, I hope Qatar absolutely embarrasses themselves, and we can put the god awful decision to let them host behind us.

I'm also looking forward to a month of not having to worry about my Fantasy Premier League team.

I’m a big soccer fan. My favourite team - Italy isn’t in, so not happy about that. 2nd straight WC they missed.

However, Australia will be eating baguettes and croissants next week :p

Aussie Aussie Aussie……

Finger’s crossed for Argentina winning WC! They look solid to be a contender to win it, and me being a huge Messi fan, I think he deserve’s to win one.

Is there any hype in your country about the World Cup?

Serious question. In France, it's the first time there is little coverage of this event
I can't speak for all of the US because it's a huge and football/soccer's popularity varies a lot in different parts of the country and especially between different segments of the population. My sense though, as someone who follows the sport quite closely is that there has been comparatively less hype/buildup for this world cup.

I’m predicting Canada does better then most have them listed and Davies lights it uppp! ❤️
Qualifying for the knockouts over Belgium/Croatia will be tough, but this is the best Canada team I've ever seen, definitely a good shout for a possible upset.

Definitely not as hype as other world cups, I agree. Everything just seems off.

-slavery controversy
-rumors that this world cup was bribed to be held at Qatar no matter what
-not being held during summer (not their fault cuz of weather but just feels weird)
-lol the latest that beer wont be allowed

Nonetheless I'll still watch for the love of the game

I support Denmark and Australia.

Denmark are one of the dark horses in the tournament imo along with Canada, Serbia and Senegal (if Sadio Mane plays). Wouldn't be surprised if they prove my group stage predictions wrong

memes will win :YEP:
