2/2 Rend vs 2/3 TC - Warrior talent tree

Greetings fellow twinks, (god that was formal )

So, I'm too lazy to sit down and do the math and discover all the variables, so I figured I'd like you lads here at TI have some fun at it. I'll start the dicussion and try to point out, as simple as possible, what it is that needs to be debated. Here we go:

This is for a 2-h DPS warrior.

Improved Rend (2/2):

+DoT -> More LoS damage.

-Can be dodged/parried/blocked

Improved Thunder Clap (2/3):

+AoE effect

+Slow enemy attack speed

-Costs more rage

Continue the + and the - list, and to that list add which does more dmg / less damage.

Thanks!

TC is ranged now right? I think there is probably some decrease in criticals?...

TC

I remember bg leveling a rogue encountering a defensive prot war which was really effective and spammed TC. I think TC should be used in a similar setup with max block (grunts shield of blocking, champion gear) in defensive stand and blowing cds. If you can adjust to the jousting correctly i think it would be awesome, i want a war just so i can try it, but ive already got to many twinks. Plus with the new buff to TC i think its more than viable.

TC is pretty awesome on a sader proc, figure it will crit for 200, so if you have a crit heavy setup i'd say TC for the AoE plus no block dodge or parry

What I'm really looking for is damage calculations regarding the difference between the 2 speccs... rend increased dmg versus thunderclap. (Since this havn't been mentioned yet).

Thanks,

Its pretty much up to your play style and preference. Personally I find armored to teeth really stupid talent for warrior pvp, so I am skipping it entirely. I find myself doing 15ish% dmg with rend so imp rend is 3% or so increase depending alot about situation. I am also rolling with 3/3 tc since tc is doing 20ish% of my dmg in arena. Its a nice extra attack, even better after patch, I see no reason not to use it nearly every cd.

EDIT: I am just wondering if the change means it can be blocked like ranged attacks can nowdays, that would suck. Someone in game could test it.

Not really, when I am using a 2h which is when I really need the ap it gives me 30ish ap if even that, quite lame. With sword'n'board it gives 40-50 or something alike, not that awesome ether. Ill rather take my 3% of crit from cruelty.
