19 Twink Hunter

Hey Folks - i would like start by thanking you for making a cool forum and page where ive spend hours with no user, but just looking around, but now i finaly decided to make an account :)



I just started to make a new 19 Orc hunter (had a 19 nightelf hunter in BC) and just wanted to know if there where some major changes in enchants and so on.

I got the heirloom shoulders and got more or less the rest of the "standard" gear - and just wanted to know if there is any items i should change/enchant otherwise and so on :) Thanks you for your advice in advance..

Just made a little list with the gear i am going to get and a spec that i might be useing with glyphs and so on.. :)



Head - [Green Tinted Goggles] +100 hp (i am following the fishing guide atm to get the headpiece)

Neck - WSG

Shoulders - Heirloom + 30 stam and 15 res.

Cloak - [Sentry Cloak] + 3 agi enchant?

Chest - [Blackened Defias Armor] Hp enchant ?

Bracers - [Forest Leather Bracers] Hp enchant ?

Gloves - [Scouting Gloves] of the Monkey 15 agi

Belt - [Deviate Scale Belt]

Legs - [Scouting Trousers 5 stam 5 agi] got 40 stam and 15 agi on them

Boots - [Footpads of the Fang] Spurvs (same with as the head - lvling fishing atm :)

ring - Seal of Sylvanas

Ring - WSG ring

Trinket - [Insignia of the Horde]

Trinket - [Minor Recombobulator] Engineering (140) required to use this item

Bow - [Venomstrike] +3 scope - is there a better scope ?

Wep - [Twisted Chanter's Staff] 25 agi

for chest you can get 100 hp or 4 stats. i would go with 4 stats.

3 agil on cloak is good.

9 stamina on bracers is probably the best enchant for a hunter. 3/3 monkey bracers are also good to get for your build.

get minor speed on boots, spurs do nothing for a 19 unless you ride a turtle. and even then minor speed is better

girdle of the blindwatcher is a good alternative belt.
 
i'd recommend girdle of the blindwatcher tbh since it has 1 more stamina and the rest of your build is lacking int





also, i'm a fan of +resist to cloak, you can get +5 all resists or +7 shadow resist (i think this is the best available for 19) since the only real magic damage you receive on a regular basis is shadow
 
I would get at least one other pair of pants for offset(s) a pair of falcon (5int 5agi) with the attack power crit patch. put them on if you have a healer around and have some fun :)
 
You might also try getting the Screecher belt (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=16987) as it has some pretty good attack power. It does take quite a bit of XP, so you'll need to plan it accordingly.



You might also want to pick up a Lavishly Jeweled Ring (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=1156) for the intellect. It's a situational ring, but good to have and easy to get.



As a second staff, you might also get TCS with +22 intellect. Once you have negated the 22 intellect, switch over to the +25 agi staff.



As for spec, there's several that work with hunters. My personal favorite is having careful aim. The extra range, to me, wasn't worth all the attack power I was losing for it.

You can actually get +10 SR at 19, but beside a numerical correction I fully support this comment. While small, SR increases your resistance to all fears, which by itself is worth the enchant.
 
yeah you have a good basic set there...but you could think about sacrificing some of that for falcon / eagle gear...you can get 7+ int to bracers and the 6 intelect 2 hit rating ring from Deadmines is also very good for hunters..just a suggestion but make a basic set first then put in your extras :)
 
you actually spec seems much like mine actually and i do fairly good, always at the top in about everything except healing and flags.



i like the dodge rating, hunters can throw in many damages at that level. but when it comes to survival, we're realy lacking now a days. since i'm always on monkey aspect. it is normal for me to wish to go on dodge rating.

seriously, hat and boots must go away replaced for fishing, yeah i'm working on it... but its hard on my server between the 5-7 twinks there fishing everyweeks and the 6-7, 60-80 fishing there for unknown reasons its very hard to get something going.



for the enchant on boots, either get nats boots and put on boar speed or cat swiftness... but i think its going far for nothing. i'll mats you why...

Footpads of the fang = +5stam + 5agi +7agi enchant = +5stam +12agi no speed increase

Nat's pagle extreme boot = +12stam +Boar speed enchant = +21stam + speed increase

Nat's pagle extreme boot = +12stam +cat swiftness = +12stam + 6agi + speed increase



do the maths there is only 2 thing really worth it here and it all depends on what you want. i'm all about balance. since i got 2k life right now, its fine by me i don't need more. so either i got with full dps, in that case forget about speed get more agi which the footpads way. men +12agi total, how the hell can you go against that. or you go full stam less dps and go with the boots.



for my part now that we have glyph for monkey speed... what'S the point of going all stam for hunter ?

i preffer full dps.





here's what i'm working on right now...

Cloak +12 dodge rating

Helm +12 dodge rating

ring 1 +12 dodge rating +1 agi

ring 2 +12 dodge rating +1 agi

arena grand master x2 = +24 dodge rating

add aspect of the monkey + improved talent



i'll be at 50%+ dodge in no time, which means 1 hit out of 2 will be dodged giving me monkey speed which is far enough to get away most of the time. can't have better survival then that, which means less life needed which means get back on DPS. in the end i'll just wreck havoc in their ranks !

yeah honestly if you have a personal healer, just stack falcon gear. it's great to have a falcon set for when you have a healer or can tear up midfield noobs, then switch to eagle/monkey set when you don't have a healer or you're flag carrying.
 
Manigma you're missing the new BOA trinket of the alliance.

same effect but adds resillience to your stats.

you're also missing BOA shoulders + enchant on it !

but i like your build...

i'm just not sure about all that intellect going around.

i actually think that 25 agi on the staff is better then 22 intellect.

Ever played a arena versus good other twinks?



+22 intellect is a must for hunters, in my opinion that is.
 
Once you have BoA with 30 stam, Fishing Hat with 100 HP, and Fishing Boots with Boar's Speed, there is really no reason for Monkey gear. You'll have ~2200 HP, so you'll want to start stacking Falcon gear like no tomorrow. The talent that gives 1 AP for every 1 Int is amazing then.



Honestly, I even ditched my Nethercleft in favor of Nethercobra, even without a healer. Damage and mana. That's what saves me. I die more from running out of mana than running out of health (well, obviously, I always run out of health, but usually it's from lack of kiting cause I am OOM)



I also got a Staff of the Friar with 20 Spirit. I swap that in when not in combat, gives like an extra 20 MP5 if not casting.
 
22 int, then after you're down 330 + 15a mana (a being the int on your enchanted 22 int weapon) switch to 25 agil enchanted weapon.



in other words use up the mana of your 22 int weapon then once you're done using the mana, switch to the agility weapon.
 
i have right now about 800 mana in my pool, it is true that i am often OOM. but then i just drink my bottle, 10 seconds later i am back up to go at it. might try the +intellect version if only i can get my falcon gears !
 
i did my hunter in a unconventional build, one of my 6 twinks, sorry i don't how to link:

i get asked to no end why i don't have a 2H weapon. get told i'm a noob. but when the BG ends the stats don't lie:D. also in following BGs i get apologies and people saying your build threw me off.



since Blizz reworked the MM tree getting 100% AP from intellect is nice. since i have some crit+ from skinning, i'm getting either a scout's blade or evocator's blade with 22 intellect enchant as another change out weapon. i also plan on getting a second set of forest bracers with +7 intellect as a change out option also.



the 1H weapon provides faster wing clips. also in rare occasion hits a lot faster on spellcasters. note, i said rare. AGM...just been lazy, overall due well without it.



my defias chest had +100hp and i switched it too +4 to all stats. i am amazed that 19 twinks look down on +4 stats. it is a much better enchant than 100hp. 60's always took +4 over 100hp, just as 70's always took +6 over 150hp. even druids.



i have 3 pets ravager, strider, hyena.

-ravager, so far i like the best, due to it knock players on their back and interrupts them for 2 sec. DPS is good.

-strider, although goofy looking bird but does alot of DPS

-hyena, has the tendon rip that slows players by 50% for 6 seconds, 20 sec CD. this pet also has very high DPS



i tried a spyder, they net, but overall fighting other hunters and spellcasters, netting doesn't stop someone who is ranged



a lot of players are proud of the lucky fishing hat. after going in on premades and pugs you you read or hear.....get ????? the one with the hat. players focus on you, like they do on healers. the hat says you are twinked more than other players. i went with the don't show hat option....noticed the difference

right away. less focus.



my first hunter i twinked at 29, i used build my hunters like a rogue. after running into a hunter that used 2 zealot blades with 22 int on each, i changed my thinking. that hunter out mana'd our hunters on a premade, was able to spam arcane shot, etc. will after we where just shooting blank arrows. we all looked him up and went hmmmmm? total intellect build, mostly eagle/falcon gear instead of monkey. made me rethink being a crit slave
