19 Shammy Gear Questions

OG
These questions are for an Alliance Shammy. I'm a bit confused about what bracers, wep, and shield to use. As well as the enchants to go on each. For bracers should I use 3/3 eagles or RFC Cuffs? And which enchant should I go with? Mana regen, int, stam, or sp. I have access to BOAs so should I use the BOA mace or smite's reaver? Arctic buckler, forest buckler, or gold-plated for shield? I know that I will also want either an evocator's blade or razor's edge with +20 spi for regen, which should I use? Please advise.

For weapon go with the 50 emblem BOA and get 30 spellpower in my opinion, you can also go with 22 intell.

Shield wise I personally use Arctic buckler with MP5, but Stam is more mainstream.

Bracers Crystalline cuffs are best IMO with 15 spellpower.

To be honest, your going to want to get multiple pieces of gear, for different situations.

Bracers, I would go, Eagle 3 /3 with + 9 stam, RFC bracer + 15 SP, 3/3 stam spirit bracers ( Mp5)

I personally, have the BoA mace with + 30 sp, because, it has 15 SP built in, AND with ur Flametongue on that, its just like omg pyew pyew for sp set.

You can use that for a big OMG heal crit,

I also Have a Smites Reaver with + 30 sp on it, for the Hit rating it has, I find it works really well when dancing round melee'ing

I ALWAYS start a fight, with Dawnblade 22 int, but since ur alliance, Start with Evoc blade 22 int, until u burn through the extra int from ur wep, then swap out to your Spellpower wep. Also I generally start the fight with my Forest Buckler ( 7 stam) until Ive burned through that intellect from my 22 int wep and shield.

Once the starting intellect from your wep and shield is gone, swap out to a Spellpower weapon, and you arctic Buckler with MP5 on it.

once you get even further down in your mana pool, you can swap it out for an evoc with Spirit on it. to try and regen your mana back a bit.

Hope ive helped.

For a draenie Shaman, you do not need smites reaver to become hit capped. A squid needs 9 rating to be spell hit capped vs nelfs, cows and belfs, this is easily obtained by using drape and 5 hit to boots.

Bracerwise, Restoshaman pretty much hit it on the head.

Weaponwise, the BoA with int on it for 22 int and as a starter weapon, 30sp on the BoA with MP5 on it and either evoc or razorsedge (good arguments for both but very little difference in it) with 20 spirit to be switched to when you oom. I have heard that the int BoA has MP5 on it too, just doesnt show up on the tool tip, however i have yet to have this proved to me, regardless you get better mana efficiency with 22 int on int BoA mace.

The vast majority of the time i use Arctic with vitality on, since it has highest armour, and 4hp5sec easily outweighs 7stam in most fights. In those fights where i do want more stamina i use redbeards crest with 7 stam rather than forest or gold plated because of the higher armour and block and the 6 str gives a fair amount of block too. However i dont generally use this unless FCing or whatever since shield swapping just isnt viable in my book, the stats you gain from it are minimal and you only last one cast/hit before the mana/hp you gained from it is lost.

Ahh yeah my bad, I forgot, Alliance only shaman is Dranei. Forgot their Hit boost.

But still, I would consider the Smites Reaver, Coz getting 5 Hit to your boots, is a good way to make up the Hit Cap, but since Fishing boots have been removed, I cant see any better enchant than Minor Run speed to be honest, as like 99% of people have it, and your going to wanna be able to effectively kite as a shaman.

With imp ghostwolf, in the majority of situations i find that i dont need minor speed. If you do want to use minor speed and you're set on the hit cap your best bet for reaching it imo is Lavishly jeweled ring and deviate scale belt, abit iffy but as a DPS shaman mana isnt really at a premium and you should have enough MP5 to deal with the loss from girdle of the blind watcher. Smites + lavishly wont hit cap you, and its a substantial loss of SP dropping BoA for smites.

my shammys not finished, but my friend who recently quit (/cry) used to always keep a spare pair of boots minor speed for indoor situations.

I have deadskull shield with 7 stam, then arctic with 4 mp5, i think forest buckler is by far the shittiest shield, since arctic has way more armor than it, like much more. I have 3/3 wranglers with 5mp5, mindthrusts with 9 stam, and srystalline with 15 sp. restoshaman was pretty much right on with the weps, ur gonna want a spirit weapon, no doubt.

You only use Forest Buckler for the mana it gives you - and mana is much more important than health.

you think minor speed is only for getting away?

gear like these guys

<< my shamans got some iffy gear(wep etc) but it's still better than some of those suggestions

yeah, well You dont HAVE to get Minor speed to boots, but since I dont have my fishing boots with Boars speed on them anymore, I just roll in Spidersilks with Minor speed, and it the most effective I find., but thats just me.

I dont really agree with you when you say that Forest Buckler is the "Shittiest" shield you can use, because as mentioned above, its not the armor or the stam on it that is desireable, its the intellect. And also as I said above, once you have burned through the bonus mana due to your 22int weapon, and the Forest Buckler, you can swap it out for + 30 sp wep and an Arctic Buckler with Mp5, or a Deadskull with + 7 Stam if you are a horde player.

deadskull 7stam seems like a starter for a shaman fc to me...cause chances are when you've blown 26int worth of mana, you've probably taken a hit, and swapping to deadskull would give you more of a health, that you've already 'lost'. I'd just switch out for a 30sp/mp5, or start with deadskull in the first place

Yeah thats true, I just mentioned Deadskull because I have seen SO many horde with it lately since people have been starting shamans all over the place, and the Exp removal has allowed other shamans to use it too.

Your right, Deadskull is normally one to start out with. It can replace Forest Buckler as a starter if you dont mind losing the mana, for a NICE hp gain.

for people without a fishing hat/agm, the stamina might be needed, but they'll have to rely on the mp5 shield/gear set to recoup the mana they'll trade off for the extra stam

ahh yeah true, good point dude. Deadskull is a good option for those without fishing hat to start fights with.

But yeah the guy in the OP is alliance I think , so our deadskull chat is irelevant to him kinda haha.

Best bet for alliance would be to start with Forest Buckler 7 stam, then once your intellect from 22 int wep and buckler is burnt up, swap it out for a 30 sp wep and arctic buckler, with mp5

No dude, you're terrible if you don't get minor speed.

Forest buckler 7 stam

arctic buckler mp5

deadskull 7 stam(fc set)

do dat

this, but this doesnt mean you have to have minor speed equiped at all times, just a pair you can switch to.
