19 Druid Thread.

I have made my decision on which twink I will be making. I have chosen a NIght-Elf Druid.

I have a lot of gold right now but I will be investing most of it into my current guild so I have decided on going for one set of gear to which I can play any role in.

Since the main reason I am making this toon will be utility and just to try something I have never played before, I would like to achieve around 1300 Mana, 1300 Health, and 50-70ish Spell Power.

I will post a list of the gear I am going for below, but I would love to hear opinions on specs and reasonings.

Gear..

Head: [item]Lucky Fishing Hat[/item]

Neck: [item]Sentinel's Medallion[/item]

Shoulders: [item]Talbar Mantle[/item]

Cloak: [item]Spidersilk Drape[/item] +70 Armor

Chest: [item]Tree Bark Jacket[/item] +4 Stats

Gloves: [item]Magefist Gloves[/item] +16 Spell Power

Bracers:[item]Wrangler's Wristbands[/item] of the Eagle +15 Spell Power

Belt: [item]Girdle of the Blindwatcher[/item]

Legs: [item]Darkweave Breeches[/item] +40 Armor

Boots [item]Spidersilk Boots[/item] +Minor Speed Increase

Ring: [item]Seal of Wrynn[/item]

Ring: [item]Lavishly Jeweled Ring[/item]

Trinket: [item]Arena Grand Master[/item]

Trinket: [item]Insignia of the Alliance[/item]

Weapon: [item]Twisted Chanters Staff[/item] +22 Intellect

Weapon: [item]Witching Stave[/item] +30 Spell Power

Weapon: [item]Staff of Westfall[/item] +20 Spirit

Looks pretty good to me. Might want [item]Staff of the Blessed Seer[/item] instead of witching stave with +30 spell power but your call. Also, +70 armor will probably help you more than +10 shadow resist cloak.

The BoA shoulders would be decent, but I'm sure you didn't list them for a reason, but they are better than a talbar mantle (I'm talking about the cloth/leather caster ones).

It also saves you some xp getting them and makes your main a bit of money from the dungeons, especially if you do the heroic dailys, those pay-out nicely >:3.

On specs, Duckhunt's guides have very nice specs imo and glyph choice. I prefer the Improved Mark of the Wild 2/2 (kind of a no-brainer talent I guess) since it benefits everyone and 5/5 Naturalist for faster heals to yourself and teammates + a bit more dps in bear form. Finally I'd get 3/3 Nature's Focus for less interuption while spam healing and what not.

Last thing I'd like to point out is that you can only get +15 spell-power to bracers, rather than +16 as stated above. Hope this helped a bit!

He has +16 sp gloves and +15sp bracers? Don't see what's wrong. :)

He must have saw the mistake, (thus the edit right after he posted) but it said +16 spellpower to bracers =P.

Yup, I caught it right after I correct it. Lol.

As for the 40 Armor, I didn't know you could go that high.

Lastly, Do you think Improved MOTW is worth it, Im kind of against stuff that is 99% of the time going to be dispelled. *Edit* Didnt know it perm increases stats.

Im going to use,

2/2 Improved Mark of the Wild, 3/3 Nature's Focus, 5/5 Naturalist

That's my view too. But you get to keep the 2% stats even if it is dispeled so it still has some use.

On the issue of +40 armor, yeah it goes that high, it's technically an exploit (I thinks ) but not a game-breaking issue, 16 more armor than regular one, big deal. It will probaly be fixed in 3.2.0 so I'd just get the regular +24.

Does the +40 one get applied the same way as the +24 one, or is there some exploit crap I have to do. If it works the same way as the old armor kits did, I'll use the +40 one, if not, then Ill do +24.

Exactly the same as 24. If you think 40's an exploit, stick with 16 :p As for me, I'm happy with (24+16).

Anyway, it consoles me whenever I get upset that I don't have the exp to get Sacred Burial Trousers :(

I would get +9 stamina to the bracers instead of spell power, considering you can add +8 SP to your weapon using Minor Wizard Oil.

One thing I'm not sure on is whether your HoTs are affected by Spell Power or just the initial cast.

Anyways, as a druid, you'll be under constant fire since other twinks will know you're a healer who can't dps at all. Given the nature of the class, you'll be best on offensive healing, and if you're not you're probably the flag holder! ;) Let a priest guard the FC instead. I always value stamina highest, and Intellect just under that. Getting HoTs on everyone is efficient but crazy expensive in terms of mana.

Bit curious about witching stave over blessed seer. Just to be able to switch to SP staff earlier I assume?

Oh and out of curiousity on the topic of druids, how fast is HT with glyph? Faster than GCD? Strikes me that 5/5 genesis 3/3 moonglow would be pretty neat if so. 2/2 Nature's focus would then be enough if HT was 1s cast or faster, as the most pushback you could suffer would only take you to .04s over the GCD anyway.

dont forget aquarus belt, veildust medicine bag and dawnblade.

>> im also doing experiments with armor kits, if i find anything ill let people know.
