111 Speed DH Questions

hello all!!

just got my DH to almost completion, sitting pretty at 172% base, and hopefully in like 3hrs ill have my final 300 Azerite piece!! anyways, here is my question, i cant seem to find out any info on running islands? i have seen posts from last year saying a 110-11 could do them? how? no way to que? any tips on farming war resources at 111? also if some speed DHs could respond with armory links i would love to look and get ideas!!

Did you unlock islands on a 120
You need to unlock them on any character to unlock them account wide

if you have a 120 you can also send order resources from it, sold by 7th legion/honorbound quartermaster

i fixed it, long story short, brought a 120 ally over to horde mid xpac, some how that messed it up for this alt until i went on a fresh ground horde 120 and actually talked to island guy, upon relog the table was usable, so problem solved!! also thanks for the tip about sending resources, I didn't even think about that!

i have seen a few DHs with Chrono Shard and i will be looking into that and the kazzak trink, i finally got all the 300 Azerite today and are sitting pretty at 175% !!

Without your cloak, you have about 110 speed rating on your gear. At that point you've basically hit the diminishing returns on speed rating - https://i.imgur.com/rMFLmYU.png chart I made a few months back, for reference - where the 2% runspeed cloak enchant is just about better than whatever +speed you can get on Antorus cloaks. So start looking into that. There's a 2-socket cloak off Vezax in Ulduar, other than that look into SoO mythic/ToT 25HC cloaks (1 socket) or check what dungeons you can run at the max ilvl boundary for the enchant and see if those end up better.

You're also missing Longstrider on your chest, but I'm sure you know about that, or just didn't equip before logoff .

Thank you. Looks like I need a item level 135 cloak or below right? Arena the WOD Dungeons higher then that? Would Mythic SoO and Throne of Thunder be better? just looking for sockets really right?

https://www.wowhead.com/item=110654/enchant-cloak-gift-of-mastery can be applied to ilvl 151 and below (that's a WoD enchant so its threshold is a bit higher). Normal WoD dungeons drop 145, but obviously you'd want a socket proc and I'm not sure if they can do that. HFC mythic is 146-149 ilvl range, so a socket proc from those cloaks is likely your best bet. Don't dismiss other raid cloaks from MoP and WoD though, since the cloaks have low stats in general the ilvl gap means very little. As a DH you're probably wanting the highest possible mastery stat on the cloak, so check the available drops and you can see what is best.

I double-checked. SoO cloaks have no socket on them and I don't think they can proc one, so they're out. There's a 9 mastery + 1 socket off Ra-Den in ToT 25HC, and then you have 18 mastery cloaks in HFC Mythic (I believe HFC gear can proc sockets). So I'd say your BiS cloak is a titanforged (up to ilvl 151) socketed https://www.wowhead.com/item=124135/cloak-of-tangible-dread or https://www.wowhead.com/item=124142/rugged-bloodcaked-drape . Might take quite a few weeks to proc a socket though .

While you're at it, keep farming for the trinket off Kazzak in Tanaan Jungle, too.

EDIT: I noticed you had a socketed tier cloak from Antorus - that's 80 mastery total, so doublecheck how much runspeed you get from that, too. The HFC cloak would have 18+11 from gem + 5 from enchant = 34 mastery. If 46 mastery gives you more than 2% runspeed then the Antorus cloak is better. If you happen to get socketed mastery antorus cloak with +speed that will be even better, but chances of that are very small so...

Hiya, speed nerd here.
(assuming I've logged out in the right gear) My currently equipped cloak is the best passive bonus I can find, better than '151 30mastery crafted with 5mast+2%ms enchant' or any socketed Antorus cloak allowing a 50 mastery gem. But if you were to come across a socketed Antorus cloak with speed procc....that's mostly likely bis.

Any WoD raid cloak can procc speed, I was lucky enough to find this one on the AH. There's an +18 mastery one from Mannoroth in HFC mythic, but I don't consider that worth my time farming for 5 points of mastery x)
(Adding to what villiansv just said, due to the ilvl restriction applied on sockets, speed rating would be a more valuable procc on lower items like cloaks)
It's also possible for world drop green boes from Legion up to around 106-107 (151 ilvl) to procc speed/sockets. I've seen some of these with around 20 mastery so, I'm just keeping an eye out for that speed procc on top!

Deimofarma looks to be coming on well! All the basics are there, traits, move speed gems, enchants. Looking good. I personally like big stat stick trinkets but yeah Chrono Shard from Arcway is a popular speed boost one. I've tested the JC bunny trinkets that give a % based speed boost, but they don't stack with the 25% from boots, so more or less useless.

I'm kind of cheesing for epeen purposes by using the 'minor speed increase' enchant on some 136 or under boots, putting me to 194.2%. I'm 189.2% with Sentinel's Eternal Refuge equipped (non-powered up)

I honestly wouldn't bother with the Mark of supreme doom trinket, I think any fat Mastery trinket from Antorus mythic would be just as good/better and a hell of a lot easier to obtain. Or keep an eye on the AH for the Legion world boe greens with mastery and a speed/socket procc. Both good starters. I've also experimented with that Delicate Vial of the Sanguinaire and just didn't find it procced enough.
