Starting Item Level for our Artifact weapon is 152, 265 Artifact relics listed as +38, three of those plus 152 should be 266 if my math is correct.
Do you mean that at some point after stat squish relics had more pluses then they have now?
Actually your calculation is exactly right!

But yet, when I was calculating what I could still potentially have with relics to the maximum, I arrived at 267.
When you look at the profiles, there is often 1 ilvl more.
Also once, a new relic was to give me 2 ilvl, and I had only one. Strange.
But, if there was not the nerf, and we would have kept the Halo (750 + 83 (985) + 83 (985) + 83 (985) + 15 (Halo) = 1014), and knowing that the basic objects were at most 985, and now they are at 265, we can say that we should have 294 maximum ilvl on the artifact. And the legendary, should be at 280 !
I would have preferred, rather than have the Azerith part personally. Because I'm worried that at the end of BfA, they're pulling the lvl off the necklace, as they did at the end of legion.
