You can get likely away with TBC triple socket slots as blue (pants/chest/helm as we're discussing) for a while at the very least, they are close to the epic counterparts if you gem 2/2 main/stam gems in them and easier to get. If you're going to roll a hunter just try for epic mastery drops...

Ideally you run one 20 of each armor type in the group so every epic that drops finds a happy, useable home. edit- and tho it may not get as many drops this way, the level 60 will still always get the item you wanted before your 20. :kms:

You can have shadowlands gems in every piece if you like. My hunter i spoke of has 24 counting the 2 utility gems. Those 2 gems i listed count so if you wanted to slot only the straddling doublet you still get speed rating for that gem. I think you can use naga hide... it might be scaled down...

Not sure about damage and health but you can gem it up with shadowlands gems and get silly amounts of regen and movement speed, but the +speed diminishes pretty hard pretty quick. Regen is flat heal unaffected by any modifiers, tho...

That's funny... I been around long enough to see levelers bitching on the forums about twinks since vanilla. A LOT. AGAIN... the couple you get interested from farming them is nothing compared to the 99.9% that hate twinks there. It got "big" from people there to farm crappy geared opponents...

Bear is ridiculously good from what I've been diddling around with, didnt try monk yet but doubt it'll compare. (also took a druid to 15, cuz I do that, and it still just gets even better than 10 like it used to. Talents are great.)
