Is Ret/Mage/Shaman the only Mage comp where frost is required? It's the only one that specifically says "Frost" in it. Some of those comps are really strong if the mage is allowed to be arcane. Frost is a lot more balanced because they provide cc, but very little damage output. Maybe reconsider...
