Thoughts on mistweaver?

I wanna roll a healer aswell. Was wondering how they perform in both bgs and arenas. They’re play style seems very fun, along with their kit seem quite strong. Lost of mobility, Aoe stun, Damage, and Zen focus. Just looking for insight on the class, thanks!

You can try to queue PVP to see how they fare, but they are fairly weak imo. They lack any sort of instant heals and their main heal is tied to a channel ability, meaning that any class with an interrupt can lock you down. Strongest healers in the bracket atm are Disc, Hpal, Rsham, maybe Rdruid if played correctly - I can't speak to the healing effectiveness of druid however, as I don't play one.

no dispel kinda kills it for me considering every other healer has it in this bracket. They put out strong healing though if you are ok with not having access to dispels.

Rdruid is pretty weak, probably the weakest of all healers including mw. I think rdruid is better suited for running flags then actually healing in team fights. Not that rdruid cant do that it just feels like they are better off doing flag related activities.

:p Given the nature of your request you wont be happy with anything other than priest... so just bandwagon that shit.

They got pretty respectable single target focus heals but whatever makes them good is kinda locked at higher levels...

But rising kick + triple blackout kick is pretty funny.

Who doesn't like to punch someone in the face in between heals.......
Mist is decent, I'm looking to level mine up and gear it, though I'm not any good as a healer
I agree with Hash that Haste is key for Mistweaving. If you do get your HoTs up, gives you some time to slap your opponents :p
Below is a screenshot of a typical Mistweaver in between heals.....

they gained access to a dispel in 9.1. its just kinda clunky because you have to have soothing mist on the target and then cast expel harm. And its your pvp talent, which means losing other talents (im not really sure what they prefer) where other healers have the dispel natively.

Monks healing output is insane though. And given their toolkit, as you mentioned, theyre pretty tough to stick to. But I dont think theyre anyones first choice for a competitive healer. Though, if you're just looking to goof about in random ques and skirms, obviously youll be fine

Oh? neat. I might make MW but put no effort into it or something.

Idk how good it is but that is surprising

the target of the dispel is confusing. is it the target of the SM or the EH (since EH is only self)?

Umm they are great... No less than 30% haste I would say. You want solid haste/mastery gear. https://www.wowhead.com/item=144159/price-of-progress?bonus=6652 works really well with high haste as well. Mist Wrap is your talent and I think Mana Tea for PvP one but haven't looked much since they killed Surging Mist.
Is this trinket worth for refunding mana? I know about cloth helm that changes HP into mana, but I'm trying to xplore other options..
Does it proc a lot? And how much mana does it restore at 20?
I already tried Botanica last boss trinket, and the passive procs 1per min, but the mana refund is really low..

I've heard its good with high haste. I think the mana return is 233. Otherwise CoF is the go-to option, the on use is very nice.

Ya I think this is just for yourself, if it even works... I think it's made to be used with https://www.wowhead.com/spell=344939/expel-harm passive MW gets at 43.

It's pretty clunky, drops your Soothing Mist channel. Haven't tested in PvP though.
[doublepost=1626635384,1626634947][/doublepost]Looks to be a flat 237, not scaling off int or vers from what I can tell. Might work off mana pool... but swapping to BM didn't change value.

I just tried that pvp talent with wm on and it doesn't seem to increase the healing of my expel harm. Can't talk about the dispel yet, but my expel harm normal heals for 283 and with that talent it healed for the same. If it has to work with the passive we get later, which I assume it does, then it's worthless for us. That would make sense.
Blizz is obviously preventing Mistweavers from overpowering hunters in the 20 bracket. :p what better way than to give MW 3 pvp talents, one of which doesn't work until 43 and give hunters 8 or 10 which are all amazing.

I'm guessing the zen focus tea would be the best option.

Without bubbles or any type of defensive CDs, I can't see a mw being that useful. All our heals are instant cast when channeling soothing mist, but aside from that, with all the buffs to hunters, a mw is going to get eaten alive.

I don’t believe that dispel talent works at 20. U need to be able to cast during soothing mist and we don’t have it at 20.
There’s not too many healers that can out heal some Bramble Staff Surv Huntard onslaught. Even worse when u now see 3 or 4 Huntards minimum grouped together…….
No amount of Zen Tea will help that :(

People blathering on about how the dispel all of the sudden made the mistweaver viable is ludicrous. L U D A.

All that happened was they got a half assed ability that is pretty much meaningless in the current mega damage meta and took a huge loss in healing power.

Not once before the patch was I like... "OMG I can't stand doing insane single target healing because I don't have a dispel! Dios Mio!"

Can I dispel Aimed Shot or Raptor strike... no.

Didn't we rule out the dispell completely a few posts up? MW is more than viable, we'll just leave it at that. Just requires you gear correctly. You can Soothing Mist forever. I don't get the single target healing argument, what class has AoE healing worth a grain of salt at this level? You can pump out Enveloping Mist on GCD which is an insane hot...

To each their own, have fun out there :)
