Legion twinking?

Hey, sorry if this has been answered I'd love to be directed to it if so...

But with legion making gear basically irrelevant in PvP, will twinking still be a thing? Example: Will the three pieces of crafted BoE gear from WoD iLvL boost be enough to make you any stronger than other players, noticeably enough to be considered a twink? Or will it basically not be a thing anymore?

This is a difficult question, it comes down to how you as an individual define twinking, twinking to the general population has its own static meaning, but to a twink themselves (especially those involved with the core of the community, who have been around for years) it often has its own unique meaning tailored to the individual's own personal experiences.

Gear will not be the same, taking away a core component of how we define ourselves, yet slaughtering under geared players use to be a core component of how we defined ourselves as well, and yet we persevered through the experience segregation, and redefined ourselves. Will we redefine ourselves again? I think we will, though i'm not sure what that will look like, our best bet i'd say would be to place an emphasis on Wargames and events, while maintaining organization in PuGs.

The community and playstyle are at stake, not the bracket itself and there will still be plenty of people who turn their experience off as long as it is a function within the game.

Ah I guess I should have been more clear. Yeah I was basically wondering if you'll be able to overpower people in BG brackets because of your gear and come out with 100+ killing blows still. To me it looks like the last nail in the coffin if gear is no longer going to have an affect in PvP :(

We haven't been able to do that for years, as soon as you turn your experience off since Wrath of The Lich king you have been entered into a pool of players who are all relatively close to the same in terms of overall gear quality, that is why I referred to it as a segregation.

True, but you can still do it with XP on. The 91-99 without turning your XP off sometimes has 2-3 people per game like myself who sink sometimes 80k + into gear just to slaughter people for fun. I personally have three twinks going through the bracket right now and have spent a fortune on them. I'm trying to play the heck out of them before the patch hits because I'm assuming you won't even be able to do that in legion anymore. :/

I see, it will be a lot different that is for sure, much like 91-99s, 29s has in large part survived by killing level 20s in place of undergeared players, but level 20s have survived the same way 19s have, through organization.

Wow, I completely never thought about all that...I missed out on something great, didn't I? :(

Maybe, organization and progressive thinking can keep our community and play style alive through legion, the question is if people will take it upon themselves to ensure that happens.
