How Many Times Have You Completed Arena Grand Master?

Legend
With Legion looming large in the forefront of every twink's mind, several big changes are coming that redefine the way these players will be able to enjoy the game. I've been around the block for a couple of these types of expansions. I've stood with the doomsayers and I've stood against the doomsayers. This time, things are much much different, with many people wondering if there will be anything left for twinks, once the dust settles and we find ourselves amidst the Legion.

With such a short time left to enjoy the game as we currently know it, I thought it might be fun to start a thread in the vein of fond remembrance for where we've all come from. Sure, we might not have to worry about grinding out that last quest item anymore or facing that boss for the 51st time in hopes for the right rolled stats. But, wasn't that the fun of all this? Not knowing if this would be the last OCD-fueled time you had to try for the item that fills your one empty slot?

I think that's what I'm going to miss most about twinking, building my characters with love and care. It turns out, in Legion, all you need to be competitive is a toon with no empty item slots. This means that players probably won't invest copious amounts of time getting those really difficult to obtain twink items: Charged Gears, Lucky Fishing Hat, Arena Grand Master, just to name a few. Which brings up a legitimate question?

For those of you who have been around as long as me, made a twink or two in your time, how many times did you complete Arena Grand Master on a twink? To find out, you may have to do some digging through armories and it might not be an easy answer for some of us. In the spirit of keeping this fun, let's share our AGM stories and talk about the number of times we've seen it through to completion.

Remember, there are no winners in this thread!

My Completion (not including the times I've done it for other players):
19 times on my old account
5 times on this account

3 times :)

3 times as well. One on a rogue I never play though so I wish I had gotten it on a different character.

Probably 9-10
I have only done it on one toon twice. And even done it on a level one two times. It just takes patience. All of mine were gotten preCRZ.

I think this is more true than most players realize. As much as I hated the grind, in some ways the mindless slot machine was relaxing. Maybe there were better ways to relax, but if I'm honest, I'll admit some of the toughest grinds were the most rewarding.

I did 10 AGMs. My "favorites" were the one I did for my f2p, my 10, and the two I did for my FC 29 mage, one month before Cataclysm took away mana shield for 29s (and thus made an FC mage pointless). I rarely got help for my AGM grinds.

This reminds me of the The Queue's "gearing horror stories" podcast from a couple of years back. (Checking to find it...)

Probably around 15, plus or minus, not counting the ones I got for others.

Some of my favourite times were when a bunch of high levels were fighting and I'd ninja the chest while they were distracted. Lol Or when I'd bring a big group of high levels with me and just take the chest with no problem. One time I was getting my trinket on a new toon on Aerie Peak and did this, and all the F2Ps got mad at me - sorry! Lol

One time on Elune, it was my turn to get AGM and so my guildies were helping me. But we were feuding with the other twink guild on the server, so they did everything they could to stop me. I think it took probably over an hour to get the chest that time. The funny thing is that the guilds merged eventually and we all became friends.

2x Shaman
2x Monk
2x Rogue
1x Warlock
1x Warrior
1x 29 Druid
1x 29 Hunter
1x 39 Hunter
1x 29 Shaman
1x 100 Mage

So 13. If I had more twinks, there would be more. I just play my shaman so its all good.

Back in the day when I played on Sentinels I had the Gurubashi on lockdown for about a year getting it for all the other twinks in my guild. So I've probably won it about 500 times.

Holy crap, I forgot about that episode. Wow... nostalgia.

On a side-note, anyone interested in podcasts like this? Maybe those could be a thing again

Me and the rest of the BWL gang got a boatload when Ravenholdt and VenCo were the only non-CRZ realms. Good times.

1 and 1/12 for agm and defending. Got it during early WoD while all the new 100s were out of stv checking out their garrison

I got a single trinket from Gurubashi Arena and a single trinket from Darkmoon Faire on my 60, never got any further than that. Though I'm not 100% sure as I used to have a 39 warrior twink during TBC, which I think had AGM. I also had a 29 hunter twink but never attempted to get AGM on him, was too busy killing new players in battlegrounds, since just having Nethercobra already made you rek everyone anyway.

I always geared for PvE since then, because I twink at raiding levels and I'm glad that will still be possible at least/

I've gotten 6 AGMs throughout my years.

I remember running into a warrior several years ago while we were both waiting for the chest to spawn. He was an old retired 19 who became a banker/collector. He had 16 agms on that toon. I was quite impressed. Not many of us think of going over 2 agms per toon!

I'm working on it right now, trying to start on my 2nd AGM and get the heirloom on this guy.
