Now that zones are cross realm I am finding it more and more difficult to farm the Gurubashi Arena chest. Any tricks or tips from people who have done this recently?

One of the most annoying things to farm on your own. Usually some dude with like 5 x lvl 100 friends waiting for the chest.
I agree with Taco, you really need to get some 100's to help you out.
Years ago when I was in a small active guild, we'd all park some decent end game toons there and help each other farm it.
Only other thing I can suggest is try at the horrible early hours of the morning when things are usually less populated.

ps - I re-sub'd for 2 months last year to pick up the Heirloom Trinket from Gurubashi. This was what usually waited for me and I'm on a low pop server (top right - hunter tracking is lit up like a Christmas tree......)

Cool I imagine you just use cross realm assist addon and try to hit dead realms every 3rd hour? Going to give that a try at 6am.

As Purj here states. Money talks everything else walks.
Just bring plenty, don't be cheap. Give the person 1,000 gold per 1/12. That is only 12k for a trinket. A mere drop in the bucket. Easy gold for them, easy trinket for you

For sure, so far I have shown up to 3 chest drops and no luck. Going to try paying people as you mentioned and maybe even resub my girls account so I can duo box and kill people then tab over and try to loot.

You group with someone on another server. There are addons to accomplish this. Cross realm assist I think it is called or something like it. You have to be lvl 15+ to jump realms I believe though.

Addons: serverhop, crossrealmassist.
Manual way: Sign up for groups in the premade group finder.
Old fashioned way: Friends.

UPDATE: I just got my first Arena Master on my long road to 12. I got it without the help of a high level or paying anyone gold. Just a little bit of server hopping until I found a server that had a dead arena. I find it funny that I had more luck at 9am than at 3am.
