    Each server is it's own macro economy. Some players only play the game just for the gold making aspect of the game. There are hundreds of websites dedicated to just making gold and only gold. Be it from shuffles, the AH, proffesions, farming, whatever...
    There many sub-cultures to WoW that the general player base of which is not even aware that play. Take twinks for example...

    Indeed, back in late MoP the only reason I logged on was to play the AH.
     
    How do you even do this? I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking at or how you even started.
