Paladin Questions

I have an old pally twink that I want to dust off with dual AGMs and Seal of Sylvanas among other GFd items though I doubt the viability of those items now. I also have access to all heirlooms. I had a few questions I was hoping someone could help me with.

1. Weapons- I know BAR with Crusader is BIS but should I have a couple other BARs with Crusader or other enchants in my bag to switch to once the first crusader procs to try and stack procs. Does that work?

2. Is there any situational gear I should be aware of?

3. Current best professions with the WoD changes. Alchemy and Engineering?

4. I'm currently Alliance Dwarf but am thinking about switching to Horde. Any low level greens that scale well I should pick up? I guess that ties into question 2.

Thanks!

1, It does not work as far as I know.

2, No, not really. Go for a mix between str/crit/stam.

3, Yes alch and engineering.

4, No not really.

proc swapping does in fact work, i've personally gotten 3 crusaders up at a time by switching weapons on my warrior. I'd suggest just having a few bar's with crusader since it's by far the best enchant for any strength user.
if you're planning on factioning you might as well get everything that might be useful since you never know when blizz is going to change stat weights or the stats on gear or whatnot, but i have no idea what gear you have so i can't suggest what you need.
i'm pretty sure alch and engi are the only professions that give any combat benefit right now even tho i'm not even sure the alch bonus works at low lvls, jc is also decent for the statues, but they're barely worth it imo.
low lvl greens probably aren't going to be bis for ret unless maybe you want to go full glass cannon (which i would not recommend).

1. Do 2 BAR + Sader for sader proc swapping.
2. Imo probably not. You may want to do a set with a bit more stamina. Ally has bis bracers and ring so make sure to get any viable ally gear before going horde as well as transmog gear.
3. Alchemy + Engineering.
4. Look at any pally or warr armory and you'll see what you'll need. I don't believe there are any viable greens, but I know for sure the boots that you have available scale up and some are rather situational. Bracers scale up as well and I believe there's a belt you may want to grab just in case. I usually do a WoWhead search where I limit the ilevel and search the specific faction.

As ret pally right now you're going to be playing as a warrior if you have good heals on your team. If not or if the opposing team is heavy in CC / ranged, you're probably going to be playing more defensively and focusing more on off healing. Some pallies ignore their healing capabilities but it really comes down to the role the player wants to play.

Why use heartsong ? iirc rets don't have a passive for mana regen in combat so the spirit is wasted . or am I thinking of the wrong enchant ?

Oh good point actually lul I'll have to double check... I tried it out and for some reason I thought I saw a huge mana regen increase but I'll have to double check. Good eyes sir.

Thanks that helps a lot. Is there still a flat mana chest enchant and does it scale down?
Of the available enchants do I go haste, crit, or versatility?
