Gear Scaling Addon (beta)

Hashbrowns

Legend
Check out the Gear Scaling Index. I wanted to make a separate post since that thing has been pretty barren. Yasueh has a beta for you guys to download. Follow the directiosn here http://www.twinkinfo.com/forums/f43/gear-scaling-index-61966/

Send me your files and I'll make a super list. Also send me your PMs if you have issues and I will try and help. This is a beta though.

Thanks all

Comment: Would be a good idea to post in the directions that everyone should EMPTY their bank of scalable items and carry into BG
Questions: 1) Are you starting a new thread with the new data or updating the old Gear Scaling Index thread you've linked to above. 2) Why is this thread marked Veteran? the index applies to both vet and starter?

Emptying banked gear and putting it in your bags would be a great idea.
I will just be updating the existing sticky.
The thread made me choose one... since guild boas will be included I went with Vet. But I think we should have the option to leave it blank. Kincaide selecting "no prefix" wouldn't let me post a thread and prompted "you must choose a prefix". Is that intended?

Oooh, no, I'm sure that was not intended. I will notify Shane about this right away. Or if he can't do that, I'll suggest that he add an "All" tag.

UPDATE: There's another tag now, for information that is relevant to all lvl 20 twinks : [ALL]
And selecting a prefix is intended aswell, Shane wants to encourage the usage of them to help with organization on that section.

Both Kincaide and Herneith , this is kind of OFF-Topic.

But yeah, i would like to thank you for all the time you have spent trying to find a solution to the problem.

For me, it is kind of solved right now, the addition of the [Veteran], [Starter] and [All] was just epic.

Once again, thank you!!!!

We're glad to be of help :)

If it doesn't apply to a specific category can we have the option to leave off a prefix? Herneith

This is from Shane:
Added an 'All' tag. I really want to force tagging in that forum, otherwise it is going to be a mess.

Stuff that doesn't apply to a specific category or that can be applied to all groups (starters, veterans, p2ps) will have the tag ALL. It's to help with organization on this section, sorry :(

In this case, I think your thread applies to all groups (so all lvl 20 twinking section)

OT again, the same issue persists with EU/US/US&US options.
Sorry, I don't think I understand this. Could you send a report explaining it, please?

I don't want to keep going off topic and stealing Hashbrowns' thread >___<

Yea I don't mind it saying all, I just thought it would make more sense to not mark it if it's not meant to be a sub category. Looks like there's a requirement on US/EU too:

But looks fine to me, thank ya ;)

Great work, I like it!

I've got so many items, I am currently trying to collect data to help you. It's not easy task, because I've got 11 full geared F2P characters + almost all heirlooms, and the queue times are still long. It would be great, if you will decide to add all heirlooms to your list.

I have noticed your addon can't able to store "Chance on hit" kinds of attributes. It's minor thing, but Parry and Block are missing too.

I think that gear that is veteran and/or linked obtainable only should be included. But with V/L marked beside the item.

I found something strange with this addon. Not all items saved for me. After I realized what was the problem: if your character can't use an item, that will be missing from the file.

So keep in mind, only items will be saved, what your character can equip!

Yeah, it was a lot easier to do a single 'can I equip this' check than try and work out if other level 20s can use an item from its type/level/etc. when compared to their race/class/level/etc. I figured cloth and leather wearers not being able to submit data for some items was worth it to avoid writing a whole lot of complicated code.

that means some of the data i sent for heirlooms wouldnt be shown. but wowhead scaling should be quite accurate for heirlooms

The only thing that has Parry is Martyr's Chain - Item - World of Warcraft but it might be worth adding. Yasueh

Chance on hit stuff I'm just going to have to do manually. I'm pretty sure that doesn't show scaled values in the tooptip. I have to edit some stuff for the "grandafthered" text color too, so I'll look into that.
