What level are people hard capping at?

Just wondering before I go to far, what level are people locking at?

Additionally anyone in EU playing much at weekends for groups?

Was a hardcore RBG'r / Arena player last season but just dont have the time anymore, plus the attraction of scaling items (and being a super old school player to boot) just made too much sense for me to just ignore leveling and do twink pvp.

I've been doing some research, and level 97 ensures that you'll have full 615 gear from dungeons + a 620 wep (Garrosh Heirloom too) and 3 crafted pieces. You could do 98 if you wanted to risk going through nagrand to get epic level items from quests (item level 620-630)

The other question is: are you gonna go as a tank spec? If so don't even worry about farming a bunch of gear at 90-99, you can go 91 for crafted gear, but other than that use lower level armor that gives you the most Bonus Armor, it will scale to 590 in Battlegrounds.

Nice.

I'll likely take it to 98 then. Part of the appeal of the twinking has been the scaling on items, but I am sure a few unoptimized items wont take too much of a difference - I'll likely get BiS at some stage anyway.

I noticed that on armor. I have the old Zandalari on use trinket from the original Zul Gurub, and it goes 11k armor on its first part of the activation. We used to mess around with armor builds in vanilla for dueling (I was in one of the best raiding guilds in the EU and top on DKP so I literally had every item ever, and I am a massive horder, so I didnt delete a lot of this stuff after 60 and 70). Some of those older items actually had bonus armor on them, especially in vanilla.

I had a 91, 98 and 99, for doing reseaches and stuff. I've just leveld a new toon which stays at 91.

PvE: 91 has the best 2nd-stat scaling, 99 is the strongest overall (class perks and 615+ on every slot + stronger legacy buff for old content)
PvP: 98 / 99

But keep in mind that it is "impossible" to get BiS-Gear 'cause you have to have epic loot procs and you only have a chance at looting once.
(No heirloom weapons anymore, no legendary cloak if you don't already have them for your level.)

Sidenote: Save some money for 6.1. Warlords crafted gear can be upgraded a 3rd time, armor to 680 and weapons to 670.

I did a little more research, and I take back what I said about the 615 gear, turns out you can only get that at 100, I think there may be a bug with it at 97 because I've been doing dungeons and it just isn't giving me 615 loot, just the ilvl 600. So if you don't what to screw around with 98-99 quests in Nagrand, I'd hard cap at 95.

I'd hard cap at 95.
Do you mind explaining why?

1st you have to level your class over and over again to 95 until the best class perks proc.
2nd you will do less dps in pve than a 91 'cause of scaling
3rd you will miss out 2 class perks and better gear than a 98+ in pvp and pve.

Imho there are only 2 level at which one should cap ... 91 and 99. I really don't see a reason why a different level should be better pve / pvp. Maybe i'm missing something.

Yeah no I'm completely wrong, haha. I'm gonna hard cap at either 98 or 99. I thought you could do Skyreach through dungeon finder at 95, but you cannot. Also, the perks I was looking for as a retribution Paladin I got by 95, but I really want the dungeon gear so I'm going to keep leveling.

The other thing I have yet to look at is the scaling difference between 91 and 99, have you looked into that? The stat squish may have messed this up, but there could either be a significant difference that would make it worth to cap at 91, or not enough of a difference. The only thing is, there isn't much PvE things to do at 91, especially if someone comes out with a 90 twinking guild for raiding. I really only see the higher levels to be PvP oriented.

If you cap at 92 you will have acces to Tormented Spaulders - Item - World of Warcraft and Tormented Trinket - Item - World of Warcraft
They require 90 to use, but the items you create are 92 req.
I completely missed the mission items. There are some more good ones.
590 gloves
580 legs
570 bracer
...

What would my mage be able to equip? *hmm*
550 PvP-Helmet (Meta Gem + Normal Gem Socket) combined with 550 PvP-Chest (Sockets and Enchant) -> 5% Haste Bonus. 620 Neck (Archaeology) - 610 Shoulders Mission - 551 Cloak Timeless - 570 Bracer Mission - 569 Waist Tailoring - 580 Legs Mission - 680 Boots Warlords 1/3 - 2x 551 Ring Timeless - 680 Trinket Alchemy Warlords 2/3 - 620 Trinket Alchemy Philosopher - 670 Staff Warlords 3/3 -> average Item Level 601 @ 92 + 1 class perk. Doesn't sound to shabby, does it?

Screw it, I'm giving it a shot. Will post my stats @91 and then again, with the exakt same gear @92, if someone wants to compare them.

I did a little more research, too ;-)

*wrong information*
Don't take it back because you can get 600@95 and 615@97 on every slot. I finally figured out how. Those "dungeon items" are created through dungeon missions from your garrison. Those missions give you a chest which contains that gear and depending on the level your are opening them, the item level changes. So if you are 97 and doing the daily dungeon and open the chest, it will contain a 615 item. The loot system is so confusing how to get stuff, which can proc rare / epic and so on :/

*correct information*
This is how it really works. The item level of the loot from those chests depend on the quest. There a quests for different level. 90 -> 530 / 92 -> 550 / 94 -> 570 / 97 -> 600 / 98 -> 615
Here is the list of all quests: http://www.wowhead.com/building=34/lunarfall-inn#rel-quests:0+3+2+1

So ... i still don't know at which level i should cap *sighs*

It would seem that the 615 items are available from 97 actually.

So essentially, if you wanna BG/arena twink, go 98+, otherwise 91/92. depending on how good your draenor perk is.

I have tried so hard to figure out how you get the 615 items and I still have no clue. Anyways.. this is what my 99 Paladin looks like at the moment. Once 6.1 drops I'm going to swap helm for the alchemy trinket. I'm still in search of some gear from Skyreach, but I've finished all quests in Nagrand and only got 2 purples which is kind of depressing but its whatever.
