Patch 6.1 will bring the Heirloom Account-wide tab.

However, from the latest tweets, it sounds like they are re-itemizing BoAs. Maybe they are going to remove all the ones we've earned thus far.

I can't think of any reason why they would remove existing ones rather than just change the stats on them, if they must change anything. The history of the game is rife with things that have either been changed or have been grandfathered as new versions were issued. But could you imagine the uproar if existing BoAs were removed without being replaced? I don't think this is anything to worry about.

Kind of crap. They could have made it so every time you enchant an heirloom, you get a dropdown for it in the tab, so you can pick which enchant you want. Also, how are you supposed to enchant heirlooms for your cross faction alts?

I don't mind as long as it duplicates instead of transfers heirlooms from toon to toon.

So if I'm reading this right, new BoAs will be sold purchasable with gold, not JP or honor. I'm guessing they will be more than 10 gold. This will put them out of reach of new f2ps, effectively grandfathering them for those that aren't linked to a p2p account. Looks like f2p purity is about to go the way of the dodo.
You should still be able to get them via DMF. If you are persistant enough, you can get multiple heirlooms each month from it if you farm tickets on each toon.
Problem is, many people are too stubborn to realize this and how easy they are to get. Instead they neglect their professions and probably gain a few tickets a month through pvp artifacts and occasionally a few dungeon artifacts.

I hope they are still available at DMF for free, or new f2p purists will be sort of screwed.

Since the tweet said "we plan to make them available again" I gathered that they were only talking about the purchasable BoAs, the ones that used to be available for justice points. Therefore I think they're re-implementing gold-purchasable BoAs which were always alongside the DMF-purchased ones. In short, I think we're safe.

When they first spoke about this feature at Blizzcon 2013, they stated that existing BoAs (the ones on your toons) would not be altered in any way. They would still be on those characters, and the enchants they have would stay.

The BoA tab (at that time) was a UI enhancement like the mounts, pets, and toybox pages. The purposed it served was to catalog the BoAs you have purchased on your accoount, and give you the option to create a new copy of that BoA (for free) on any character on your account. That BoA would then have to be enchanted, but would otherwise function as normal as far as BoA gear goes.

what exactly makes you think they'll remove all existing boas? what would be the point in that?

They should be doing something about the resilience on the items. It needs to be redone.

This little bit right here:

Heirlooms already on characters will be collected into the new UI (similar to other Collections features)

If you think back to when we got mounts, pets, and then toys, all the existing versions on your characters were removed and placed into the UI panel where you can now access them. I certainly hope they don't do anything with current BoAs, but you never know with Blizzard.

No, what actually happened was that you had to log into every character that had the mounts or pets and learn each individual one by clicking on it. Of course doing this invoked a GCD so it took quite some time for collectors.

Yup yup, exactly so. I was about to post the same thing.

This twitter comment which was already posted in this thread clears up any doubt about whether or not existing BoAs will be affected.

I noticed today that on my Lasting Feralheart Spaulders the resilience was replaced with crit. I'll check my other honor looms later.

Some yes, but a lot of them were automatically added when you logged in, this was especially true for pets. You don't remember logging in on patch day and seeing 3x King Snake or whatever common pets in your book?

I think I still have nine hatchlings from Wetlands. :D

Some? Try all that were not related to quests or achievements, which was the vast overwhelming majority.

pets/mounts were not automatically added (the great majority of them)
