Oldschool 29 Twink Returning, Questions Inside

Hello everyone, decided to roll a Shaman for 29's. I'll get directly to my questions, any help is greatly appreciated.

1. How active is the 20-29 bracket?

2. Are there any teams actively recruiting a healing or dps that could use a highly experienced competitive 29 player? (Played during epitome of 29 twinking BC era under the name Teknine)

3. Does the movement speed / versatility or haste cloak enchant scale or cancel out a boot speed enchant, and if it doesn't stack, which enchant setup is considered BIS.

I'm looking to drop 20k into this toon, and will xfer it to play with a fun and competitive team.

Thanks for the help,

Gimmehoney

Shaman are a fun class atm. Not overpowered, not underpowered, the right amount of utility and fun tools. Ele feels like a harder spec to play properly, but can probably burst for some good damage on occasion.

1. How active is the 20-29 bracket?

Ever since they remerged 20-24 and 25-29 and added skirmishes back into the game, Skirmishes have popped fairly frequently (anywhere from instant to 15 minute queue time). BGs have a significantly longer queue time now, but they do pop.

2. Are there any teams actively recruiting a healing or dps that could use a highly experienced competitive 29 player? (Played during epitome of 29 twinking BC era under the name Teknine)

Well, 'highly experienced' doesn't really mean much right now, we've just had a slew of changes, everyone has had to relearn their class and adjust to major changes. Experience from 2006/2007 really doesn't mean much since the game is not what it was back then.

You might be able to find a couple of guilds willing to take you in, but there aren't any super active ones, and no one is really doing anything important aside from rolling level 20s in skirmishes and BGs.

3. Does the movement speed / versatility or haste cloak enchant scale or cancel out a boot speed enchant, and if it doesn't stack, which enchant setup is considered BIS.

Yes, Movement speed effects now stack, unless it's a temp speed boost like sprint or the BG sprint buff. In those cases, the highest movement speed increase is chosen. Otherwise, speed to boots, speed to cloak, speed to helm, speed talents/glyphs, and Ghost Wolf/Travel Form/Mounts all stack together.

If you're going ele or enhance, Elemental Force is by far the best enchant for you. Resto likely would benefit most from the new haste proc enchant, but it's expensive so no one really has tried it out to see what works. A good default is just spellpower on weapon or one of the older haste proc enchants (Windsong or Black Magic).

20k might get you most of the blue neck/cloak/ring enchants.

Roll on Dragonmaw for horde side or bleeding hallow (not as active) currently on Dragonmaw have 5-10 people on most times of the day forming 5 man's a few times a day, as for ally there seems to be a lot of 29s but no guilds or specific spot. Best of luck, play resto or enhance you'll most enjoy shaman.

PS, go to armory and if any enchant's show up weird like "zzAB059|Strength" don't replace them. They're grandfathered. Get new gear pieces. Good luck.

Answer the questions?

Edit: I wish I could remember 1 thing about who you are but honestly I can't.
Must be the tabs. I wish I could forget Phazz's HP5 Warrior to match your Serp Sting Hunter.

I am not speaking towards to his experience. But decent players can adapt to new changes and play with them. No amount of class shuffling will unlearn awareness and basic pvp mechanics like Focus. Unfortunately this holds true for you in reverse.

Enhance is pretty good, decent dmg and good utility

Elemental is pretty much useless, fulm is the only thing that does dmg and its a pain in the ass to get the stacks and doing zero dmg until you have it.

Resto shaman is strong atm.

Nasty, you're one of the most godawful players I've ever played with. Even Franchii has more skill and situational awareness than you.

But go ahead and continue to tell others they are bad....

By all means.

<Make Your Time> Arthas Horde is recruiting old school players (and newer pros). Usually someone online pop over. We plan on getting very active (premades, etc.) at both 29 and 19.
Guild just because active again after several year break.

Your poor play stems from your arrogance. Granted, you're not an intellectual guy - that's fine. But after 3+ years of twinking, even someone as dumb as you should have picked up the principles of PVP targetting.

Alwas looking for more horde in <Departure Lounge> we also have a guild alliance side for our alts <Delivery Room> dom, me as well as a few others have been doing 29's since BC Look us up on dragonmaw if you are interested.

This from the guy who raged at me in vent for asking him to be more aware of his surroundings, went on for a good five minutes, finally stating " I would need some massive 8 monitor display to see everything going on around me"

Do you still enjoy hearing 15 people laughing at you at the same time?

Slick Willy you are no one to call other players out on anything much less situational awareness.

So I'm 'arrogant' and 'dumb' because I won't let some never-was judge me according to what he thinks is 'optimal play?'

I can live with that.

At least I'm able to break 1900 in arenas without buying a carry.

I'm not going to participate in some 4 year old argument about a shitty situation you refused to see from other perspectives at the time. You've literally not changed a bit and that's the really sad part.

:( I like tuna sandwiches after I eat eggs with bacon in the morning because when i waft my own farts into my nose it tastes good, kinda like home yah know.

Willy, you're having trouble legitimizing your position that focus is useless because mouseovers are adequate. With your awareness, it's easy to see why you believe it isn't necessary. You're probably right.

All your questions were answered but I wanted to add that elemental shamans are still decent and fun to play, most people just don't know how to play em. I love sending people off the cliff in eots. Ignore all the squabbling, not really sure what its all about but seems to involve some failed love triangle in the past lol.

Perplex

The only trouble I'm having is understanding why you even bother posting. No one gives the slightest shit what you have to say about a given subject, least of all, me. I've never held the position that focus is useless or that mouse over macros are adequate. Both are available tools within a much larger toolkit for players to utilize at their discretion. Not mandatory standards by which to measure a person's skill in a game.

Your argument amounts to 'you suck at game because you don't use focus.' I really can't do much to help you understand how ridiculous that sounds. I'd much rather spend my time defending the position that each person is going to use the tools they have differently and find a play style that works better for them.
