How much of a disadvantage would a "classic" twink have?

I was thinking of making a 19 twink and only using gear and enchants that were available during vanilla.

My question to you folks is how terrible would I do against modern twinks with this restriction?

I'm going to do it regardless, just curious... Sounds like fun if you ask me! :)
 
You would be at a large disadvantage from just lacking the new cape, rings and neck enchant. if you were to do this I would reccomend a class that could make use of crusader though~
 
Why do this? You would just end up being an annoyance and a disadvantage to your team, and for what? To be a special snowflake? I dont really get why you would do this tbh.
 
You would probably kick ass for a little while. At least until you leveled up out of the bracket due to gaining xp in battlegrounds. Don't forget old school twinks had ZERO heirlooms and did not have satchel gear either.

playing a warr, i could promise that this would NOT work for warriors. it MIGHT work for ferals, on the other hand, as they already have 1hit burst. warr currently relies in crusader quite a bit even in full gear, so sub par gear crusader procs would still be underwhelming on a classic toon

as for OP, i really wouldn't try this sorry i think youre not going to find the results that you'd hope for

Yes, playing warrior is a real struggle.

theres no specs that are a struggle at 19 to play currently in general besides like resto druid and affliction warlock, if youre strugglign with other shit its not the class its you... whats your point besides looking salty about getting raped by arms warrs

While it would be really annoying to have someone handicapping the team on purpose, it would be a pretty cool thing to do.

Maybe just have the character as a trophy toon or something to show off.

Im sure it wouldnt be minded too much, but you would have a serious disadvantage to any other twink, and a weight even with rolling a fotm class/spec.
 
The only "hard" spec/class at 19 are Resto FC's. Any dingus with half a brain can pick up any DPS/Healing spec and do good numbers, same goes with CC classes/specs like Locks and Mages. Really isn't that hard to spam a CC on a healer until it DR's.

Back on topic.. do what you want, but it does put the team you're playing on at a disadvantage which is frowned upon.

your 10 is at least enchanted, geared (as much as a 10 can be geared) and viable simply due to rend, a completely under geared and under enchanted toon would contribute literally nothing to the game and would only be detrimental to their team. Not knowing what class op intends on playing affects its potential viability, but pretty much every class will be completely useless without boas, a shoulder enchant, a neck enchant, a good cloak enchant, leg enchant, ring enchants as well as the stats they'd be losing by not using the best enchants in other slots. Op would probably not even have anywhere near 2k health (which is low to begin with) without proper gear or enchants meaning they'd get picked off in mid in literally 1 global without fail. I think op's idea is absolutely terrible and will only lead to worse games for everyone and a horrible experience for the op as well as the other 9 people on their team. I don't think it's fair at all to compare a fully geared and enchanted 10 to a toon that literally can't be bis in any slot whatsoever and i still say you'd be ten times better if you played a 19 instead of a 10.
 
I would feel bad bringing the toon into a BG to be honest. I would probably only use them for the occasional duel and all that jazz.

Warrior was what I was considering going with actually! Anyone bored enough to help me come up with gear/enchants for this guy?

I appreciate all the responses guys!! :)
