Let's be realistic here. Purity is for the masochists among us. Anyone that has wasted time leveling a DK only to be DC before you acquired what ever you were grinding for, how much is your time worth exactly? Hours of your life are worth less than $5? Now, maybe you enjoy grinding, maybe, but DKs aren't pure. They're a bug, an exploit, and just plain stupid. Spend the $5, get a free month, grind out everything you always wanted for your F2P and never pay Blizz another cent. They will constantly spam you with free game time, or you can scam a GM to get some time by asking for something on your account to be transferred to your F2P. 99% of the time, they will just give you 2-3 days of free time. Then there's the free trials of WoD, free weeks, and scrolls of resurrections.

TLDR: Just buy the game and link it your F2P.

You can always chargeback on the payment, if you're that set on not giving them anything, but sometimes convenience is worth a few dollars.

Just tell me how. I bought the box version of BattleChest in summer. I never used that key. It should be somewhere in my room. :p

How can I activate that as WOW2 without accidentally upgrade my Starter Edition? There is only an "Add a Game Key" button on Battle.net, but I am afraid this will upgrade my WOW1. Upgraded Starter cannot be reverted.

Add a Game Key is the one you want. From there, it takes you to a menu that lets you choose which account. Just make sure to double check before you click okay. Of course if you do manage to mess it up, you can always open a ticket.

Scrolls of resurrection aren't a thing anymore :/ people with multiple accounts exploited the system.

Mr. Garrison, and his friend Mr. Slave, enjoy doing things the hard way too. Like I said, masochists. I'm not trying to convert them. The bike above works, and some people prefer it that way, but I don't think most people would.

For the regular people though... The main issue with playing full WoW is the ongoing cost. That, and a lack of interest in endgame and the gear treadmill. Of course some have a personal objection to paying Blizz, and others actually enjoy doing things simply because they are unnecessarily difficult. At some point though, it just becomes silly. For me that point is $4.99. For others even free might be too much for them.

No need for a shitstorm. If you don't want to buy the game, for what ever reason, don't. For everyone else, $4.99 is the reason you can't do so many things you'd like to, not to mention doing them at your leisure without fear of being DC.

ps: i like to stay low lvl so less buttons, makes me seem more skilled

That is why I twink. Easy peasy. No end game gear treadmill.

They just think it is "cool" to not pay. They just like to be with the " in crowd". When they grow up. They will learn that being cool to isn't all it's cracked up to be.
