Pure F2P, ie: Iron Man Challenge Similar to Runescape's

  • So I thought of a WoW version of the "Runescape Iron Man Challenge", if anyone doesn't know what this is it is basicly a version of runescape where you pick to not be able to trade with players, only a limited amount of bag space, not able to use banks and other restrictions.

So basicly I am going to start over with a pure f2p for more of that Ironman challenge, type of thing competing with 29s and getting bis should give me a hard time and i will love trying to overcome it.

Encourage other players to overcome the challenge.

I will be rolling on Blackwing Lair and I am making a Warlock.

Ironman challenge = delete after death
That is how it works. Admittedly I know nothing about Runescape, as I barely have time for WoW. But that is how the Ironman challenge in WoW works. You do Zero quests, get zero help, zero grouping, nothing, nada, zip... You die, delete start over. First one to the decided upon level by the participants wins.

You can do quests in WoW ironman.

Ironman is not something specific to Runescape, it has been there for wow for a long time, see this:
Ironman leveling - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

The idea is to level up using only grey/white, no bonus, no trading, and NO DEATH. Kripp did it once when he was not soaked into Hearthstone (as a hunter, which was the easy mode of Ironman).

Ironman those days is way less difficult than it was in TBC, every classes now has crazy regen, and huge damage, even without any special gear.

I remember leveling in TBC as a warrior with crappy gear, and you had to sit every 3 mobs, cause your health wouldn't go up unless you eat something, potion like troll's blood were amazing cause it boosted your regen, and you would use any food buff you'll find cause he actually made some difference. Fighting against mobs 2 or 3 levels higher was really hard, and any elite or rare would rip you in 2 if you had no party (you could kit them if your class allowed it, ofc and pet classes like hunt or warlock had huge advantages for leveling cause the pet was not gear dependant).

You pretty much got it except on Runescape you don't get deleted when you die.

Now that I think about the reduced honor hierloom and dmf hierloom costs this doesn't seem like much of a challenge....

I'm thinking about trying this but playing with my feet no hands just to add to the challenge and playing thru fast food places with free internet so I take that " pure f2p " to " Pure Pure F2p" and call everyone sell outs for paying for internet service at home. :p

The only things that would be difficult are BFD and Stocks if you aren't grouping. Even profs can be done with only the 16 slot bag, it would just take a little longer, well maybe not since stacks of 20 are no longer an issue.

Iron man challenges could have been made so much harder in the past but now blizz has streamlined things to be so ex-mode that it's difficult to make things difficult for an experienced player. The biggest challenges I had on f2p was probably tanking dungeons as a prot pala in MoP without ever stopping pulls. Speed challenge RFC,DM, WC, and SFK. Most of these were without any other intentionally grouped f2p.
