OP:

To be whole, the past depends upon the end of the present.

Whose choices are wholesome is selfless.***
Whose choices are selfless is at peace, and I with them.
Whose choices I am at peace with I accept.
Whose choices I accept I trust.
Whose choices I trust I love.
(The reality I perceive consists of subjects and objects. Objects cannot choose (to love) and so I do not love them.)

Purpose: wholeness
How? selflessness
***Why? I can't take everything else to become whole, and so I give myself up.
Suicide? no (that's selfishly taking myself from everything else)
How then? I accept for myself alone only what is necessary to continue to live&give

I like where you're going with this. It's a healthier philosophy than many people would give you credit for. Just remember that selfishness and selflessness are two ends of a spectrum, and healthy compassion and empathy lie in the middle. He who selflessly gives everything is himself lost.

Developing Selfless Compassion : zenhabits

It's true that this isn't the appropriate forum for this sort of talk (and forums do exist out there for exactly this sort of talk, so consider finding one or some if the topic of higher thinking and self-improvement interest you) but since I know you're relatively young, I think it's worthwhile to encourage this sort of thinking even on (especially on?) a forum that has its fair share of trolls. Every bit helps.

that's precisely the purpose

OK maybe in the "lose yourself to find yourself again" sense, but I'm talking about becoming a doormat for others a) indicates a low self-respect, b) will cause the remaining self-respect to wither, and c) definitely causes other people to respect you less as well.

In other words, totally giving everything you have to anyone who asks no matter the personal costs is actually just as bad as giving nothing to others; people will not respect either one. In the middle of the spectrum between complete selfishness and complete selflessness is compassionate self-care. That's where people need to be aiming.

It's "How To Be A Decent Person 101".

But in a F2P sense? Like don't be a jerk in BG chat?

I agree.... but sadly, the only thing that will fix the trolling on this site (and others) is for said trolls to be under the care of a qualified psychiatrist.

That, and also, don't take advantage of other people but also don't let other people take advantage of you. For example recently someone talked about players who are given lots and lots of help, but they don't appreciate it, and to a large degree it's because they're put in a situation where they don't feel like they had to work for it therefore they don't value it as much. It is possible to be too helpful, and end up being a detriment to your community.

don't take advantage of other people but also don't let other people take advantage of you.

At the risk of stirring the arm-wavers and evangelical atheists, this boils down to:

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

(Although you can find this expressed in most major religions.)

So, I'm still at "don't be a jerk".

Probably one of the weirder threads I've seen lately. Here's some sayings and mottos to live by.

Remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane

Join the Army, meet interesting people, kill them

A fool is a 37th floor window washer who steps backs to see his work

If you think there is good in everybody, you haven't met everybody.

I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather. Not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car.

People are like slinkys. Not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face, when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Hell, why not?

I guess I have 3 policies (and they don't always agree with each other):

1.) Be the change you want to see;
2.) Seek the fun above all; and,
3.) Don't (regularly) PvP sober.

Enactment:

1.) Roll underrepresented (previously "underpowered") classes/specs. Big ups to Bend & the whole BWL baddies thing for turning me on to this concept. It really, really needs an alliance counterpart! Pre-6.0 I was having a blast playing mostly Ret, Feral (definitely not underpowered, just underrepresented), and F2P-restricted MW/WW monk. Since 6.0, though, that stuff's everywhere, so I've been playing mostly Enh shaman, w/ some Hpal mixed in. I'd be more inclined to play Hpal if it didn't feel like, post-6.0, "I could just throw handfuls of glitter at my dogs and I would be accomplishing just as much."

2.) More of #1 , for sure, but I'm considering a 24/26/28/29 MW monk, based on the fact that they now get renewing mist at 24 (fun!), and really aren't much of an offensive threat anymore, from what I've seen. Won't be doing this anytime soon, though, because leveling my 1st toon from 90-100 on my sub account has been the most fun I've had leveling since WotLK, and I'm actually looking forward to getting the other 6 90's, and the 4 that haven't quite been brought up to speed, to 100. GG Blizz. I hated MoP within 24 hrs of hitting 90 for the first time, but they seem to have fixed almost everything that drove me to unsub & stumble into this F2P PvP business in the first place.

3.) This one fights w/ #1 a bit, I guess, since it sometimes leads me to be a bit obnoxious in /bg chat, but I do my F2P derp routine mostly to blow off steam, so I just hope I don't upset anyone that much. Also, I mostly play at the time of day (late morning/early afternoon) when alliance seems to have a significant advantage in both the number of P2P's and the unspoken policy of "No more than 2 underpowered/unerrepresented specs per 5 games. Also, I only see 4 monks. Will someone AFK so we can have at least 5?" That stuff is really hard to stomach on an even keel...
