WoD will go on PTR soon, check MMO-Champion - Prepare for Battle: The Pre-Expansion Iron Horde Incursion
When it happens , ill download it as afast as possible , ill tell the realm where you all should log in (F2Ps) , using F2p addon too. And we will try alot of things. Starting from the bracket 20-24 or 20-29 , thats the main topic for me. I know here im leaving this, Some tweets made it seem like its going 20-29, but it never made it to WoW Forums From any GM.
We will try 5v5s, skrimishes. And even WSG 10v10 , 10 F2P Versus 10 Enchanted ppl to see the difference. And see if it will still be bad(pretty sure it will , but give it a shot , no ?).
If anyone is willing to try it , just post here.
 
Im down to hop on ptr . if we can skirmish on that i would probably be playing only ptr until wod comes out lul
 
PTR has separate servers from retail. There is likely to be be only a few servers to play on (PvP, PvE, RP etc). We will probably want to pick a PvE server to avoid interference by higher level players.
 
Count me in, have been waiting for ptr to get full groups in there and finally test the bracket question and scaling etc etc. I would agree with not going pvp server to avoid higher levels, but at the same time would be fun to get some world pvp in

you can always just turn on pvp on your normal realm and it will work just the same as a pvp realm. then if a 90 shows up u can turn it of and in 5 min he cant attack you .
 
I'm pretty sure all the PTR realms are merged. I'd assume they are all in the same battlegroup for testing pvp changes.
 
Lower level zones are not marked as PvP even on a PvP server. It so only when you get out of the second leveling zone that you are marked for PvP. So all you "hardcore" PvPers are safe in Goldshire and in front of Ogrimmar unless you are marked for PvP. PvP realm are generally more populated, thus they will have better competition and a healthier PvP player base than a PvE realm.

beta access with the regular ptr? is this something new? i don't think they did this for the previous expensions

There is. It's been posted on battle.net, I believe.

It's something at the Dark Portal (and I think Shadowmoon Valley in the OL? I didn't read too much into it).

There is a chance F2Ps might be able to get something by being at the Dark Portal while 90's clear content.

Would be interesting. Perhaps some sort of aesthetic thing for us to get.

No, it's not new. They've always had a separate PTR to test the pre expansion patch content and the changes that affect everyone below the new level cap.
