DNS Name Server Update -- Cloudflare

  • Hello everyone.

I have been monitoring the traffic peaks for the last couple of months and have figured out the underlying problem -- vBulletin. vBulletin is a server resource hog and it has been bogging down the server with dead requests for a long time. If someone was logged in, the request they made to the server will keep refreshing itself until the user has been inactive for an hour. That just puts the server into overdrive and provides everyone with a bad experience.

I have migrated the DNS name servers for Twink Info over to Cloudfare and am already seeing a large difference the load on the server and the resources being used.

I hope that this helps the viewing experience here at TI!

Do you guys use OpenSSL for your HTTPS log-in and have you had any issues with the Heartbleed stuff?

thats an issue with the hosting company, whether they have patched the bug out. but seeing as the heartbleed exploit was only used by hackers vs big corporations (i.e get more money from it) i doubt TI would/will be effected.
